"F."Bones", M.T. Musto"

scott seward, Monday, 12 February 2024 02:23 (two months ago) link

which is so mean. they have both done things that i have totally enjoyed. its more like a half cringe when looking over a bunch of singles that i might get in at the store.

scott seward, Monday, 12 February 2024 02:24 (two months ago) link

basically any time i see the name of some old classic 70s or 80s song and then see something like "(1999 remix)" i cringe pretty hard. i can't help it.

I was thinking the other day that when it's written:

Artist - Song Title ft. Guest Artist

as opposed to:

Artist ft. Guest Artist - Song Title

it implies that the "ft. Guest Artist" is actually part of the song title and that they don't necessarily have to appear on the record

...eh you get the gist of it (dog latin), Monday, 12 February 2024 02:45 (two months ago) link

or wince. cringe or wince. whimper.

Brings to mind this tweet from an erstwhile ILX-er that has randomly stuck with me for some reason

i like the way Spotify displays the Sting/Shaggy album because i can imagine "with Shaggy" is part of the song titles pic.twitter.com/cfWqIp1BCq

"featuring Chris Martin" on nearly any hip hop album back in the day meant i wouldn't listen to it for a good 3-6 months

featuring anyone, really

i'm gonna assume that it's bad until you prove otherwise (which several, of course, can do!)
