According to Dr. William Gibbons of the Deguello Institute, a universal way to attract female interest is to take a certain amount of care in one's appearance and grooming, paying particular attention to apparel. While a healthy financial portfolio is important in terms of the self-confidence it provides, studies have indicated that cleanliness and, in the case of footware, novelty (in the sense of purchase date) are the leading factor in obtaining female approval. And while a suit-and-tie combination (silk and black, preferably) are always a necessity, seemingly outmoded forms of fashion (e.g, the top hat) also help to make an impression. To paraphrase Dr. Gibbons, women seem unable to control their impulses when confronted with a highly presentable gentleman.
