This is pretty much number one on the list of genres I want to listen to lately. My favorite band of this ilk right now is Peaness, whose new single is aces:

Xpost Yeah right, good one. They also had a great single out on a Vancouver label last year which is not on the band's own bandcamp page but is on the label's:

heads up: trust fund are recording their new album with mitski's producer... they are undoubtedly my favourite twee-leaning group!

This one which just came out on Jigsaw from Seattle and has a different (women) singers from Vancouver bands singing songs written and played by the gal guitarist who wrote all the songs for Thee Ahs. Even though each song has a different singer it feels really cohesive. Kinda a Cocteau Twins feel to some of these songs, even veering into Fleetwood Mac territory at times, though it usually reigns it in and back to spacey introspective musings. This is my favourite one:

Think this probably has the requisite amount of handclaps to fit this thread

oh i like this

:) Haven't listened to the album yet but the guitarist is in the similarly great Shopping.

came here to post Sacred Paws who I saw on Sunday and were/are great. Rachel Aggs is probly one of my favourite guitar players of recent years

as it happens Peaness were playing a few hundred yards away, I haven't listened to them though

would the Courtneys fit in here

Maybe too much distortion? :P Good track, though.

I really dig the Sacred Paws album.

i think the courtneys fit in!

New single from Girl Ray has a Dolly Mixture vibe.

Those vocal harmonies are stunning. If the Beach Boys had been girls they would have sounded like this. Awesome song.

it's the distortion, stupid! (alex in mainhattan), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 18:51 (two months ago) Permalink

Really like the new Sacred Paws stuff, and love R Aggs completely, though I must confess I don't think of any of her bands as being tweepop! Maybe I'm too close to the scenes involved and see vast differences where in fact they are quite small in the wider ocean of music.

With the demise of FPop I guess the primo UK indiepop label crown has to go to Oddbox (who I particularly like because they put out scuzzy DIY bands as well as the so fresh so twee crowd):

After having missed a few I'm debating returning to Indietracks next year (probably won't make this upcoming one unless they suddenly decide to chase me down to play).

I'm cheating, probably, by linking Slumbers's short album from November 2016, but it's lovely and I haven't seen it mentioned on ILM:

The Courtneys are sooo great

I big upped them on the emo thread a while back but the Snail Mail EP will probably appeal to some twee folx

Courtneys -- a Vancouver Canada band on Flying Nun... Nice retro rockin sweet voiced pop

I am kinda underwhelmed by Stef Chura, a rougher-edged Chrissie Hynde

Knife Pleats played their first show in ages last night. I was not on time but the important thing is that they're back, baby.

Rose can do no wrong. About once a year I'll check to see what she's up to and it's always something new, and it's always good.

question mark because you're questioning the placement or because ?paramore?

Was just wondering why you posted it on this thread?

Pumarosa from London are not really twee but they seriously rule my world at the moment. They call themselves industrial spiritual, I'd say explosive hypnotic indiepop. Here is the mighty "Honey" live. The album "Witch" has been released last week.
