I am massively annoyed about "If Rah" not making it and ZERO Kendrick tracks.

I can't believe I was the only #1 vote for "Formation" tho. Btw the MikeQ remix is also v key, wish I could have voted for both.

Yeah only part pf this list I do not get is the amount of love for THE 1975. I listened they're ok I guess but hardly an obsession worthy band.

"Cranes in the Sky" was an instant classic on an album that bored me to tears.

Pretty disappointed to discover after all this mystery that Mitski is the same kind of boring sniffly indie rock music we've heard on this list many times already, except with heavier guitars (eww).

Mitski song has great lyrics, but the chorus is basically "Teenage Dirtbag," isn't it?

You can look up my comments on the Ear Murderers last time around if you care for my take.

The Mitski is better than "The Sweater Song" but I couldn't help but hear the similarities.

Yeah, she sometimes sounds like Weezer and sometimes even reminds me weirdly of Tori Amos, which normally wouldn't excite me that much, but I just really like her voice and songwriting. Btw, she used to be part of a prog group called Voice Coils, who did a couple of great EPs.

"teenage dirtbag" is a great song, in case that obvious fact was being misinterpreted by people reading these casual comparisons

I'll leave the long version for Mitski to tell, but the short version is "I thought I wanted to date you, American Boy, but we're not really on the same page and never will be because of deep culture clash and, whatever, I'm starting to appreciate that as I get older."

"Black Beatles" has a really good beat, but like with "Bad and Boujee", the lyrics are too sexist that I'd want to listen to it multiple times, sorry. I know these guys are young and all and it's common, time-worn rap tropes they repeating, but there's so much good rap that averts those tropes that I can afford to avoid tunes like this.

re: "Black Beatles", this is the best Rae Sremmurd song I've heard to date; I would rate it a 5/10.

honestly i don't get the Mitski hype either, can't shake the suspicion that it's '90s nostalgia?
