albums coping with the death of a close person

I couldn't find a thread on this, so sorry if this has been discussed before. There are quite a couple of albums which have been dedicated and/or influenced by the death of friend(s) or relative(s) of the musician which i really love. The ones which come to mind immediately:
- Giant Sand: Chore of Enchantment (my fave gs record, dedicated to the great slide guitarist Rainer Ptacek)
- Lou Reed/John Cale: Songs for Drella (where they make music together for the 1st time after many years to commemorate their artistic father Andy Warhol.
- Lou Reed: Magic and Loss (one of my fave Lou Reed albums, about the deaths of several of his friends from cancer, very touching)
- Nick Cave: Skeleton Tree (his son died during or just before the recording of the album, haven't absorbed this yet, it seems quite hard tö listen to)

I am sure there is more...

Supposedly, Van Dyke Parks's Song Cycle is a real song cycle about Van dealing with the death of his brother.

Eels - Electro Shock Blues. About suicide of sister and death from cancer of mother.

Funeral really isn't about death, btw. In the Backseat is about Regine's dead grandmother ('Alice died / in the night) but the rest of the deaths occurred after the recordings, and only influenced the name. Really, in connection with the lyrics of the songs, what is being buried is the character's innocence of youth. Etc.

Rufus Wainwright's Songs For Lulu got a bit of a kicking critically, and it isn't one of his best but that's one of these. when he performed it live he did the full album, requesting no applause until at the end when he'd played it through. then he came back on for a big 2nd half set of hits/faves etc. a great idea IMO.

Dedicated to Pete Namlook, as per the liner notes:

Dear Pete,

It's been a year now since the terrible and unexpected loss of your physical presence. Hardly a single day has passed without thoughts of you. Always took you for granted and the projects we would have in our pensionary days.

All I can say is, how proud I am to have had the opportunity to work with you intensively and to have you as a dear friend. Still wish I would have communicated this better, being a more reliable and present friend to you.

The music here, I was carrying around with me for a while - never quite knew where it came from and why I came up with such a dark and sincere piece. I always wanted to give it to you, but save it for the right moment - never would have thought this would be my requiem for you, until I realised that this is what it really is...

You're sadly missed by so many, but your music will resonate with us, hope you're listening, too - out there somewhere...

A couple more from this year:

Thomas Cohen's Bloom Forever was written in the wake of the death of his wife, Peaches Geldof.
Okkervil River's Away was partially inspired by the death of Will Sheff's grandfather.

Tool's Aenima was dedicated to Bill Hicks. I suppose Radiohead's The Bends dedicated their record to him too, but Tool sampled him and incorporated him into the art. Certainly helped to introduce me to his comedy and philosophy, so I'm forever grateful.
