every line of 4 alarm blaze is sort of ridiculous, not helped by the eye of the tiger sample, but its still one of the greatest bangers from that era of 80s-cheese-sampling rap. when it came out, i was one of those irritating 'if you dont like MOP you dont like hip hop!' people, but listening to it now, i cant help laughing a bit at how OTT MOP sound, which is why i dont think many people who worked with them sound like an esp good fit. jay-z sounds about as natural an MOP collaborator as guru, so i file these collabos as some of jay-z's more charitable gestures, trying to give a leg up to some brooklyn underdogs, but id wager u dont know is the best, as its slower, and meaner, the kind of thing jay-z tends to sound better on, and just blaze seems like a perfect producer for MOP.
