Swans TS: The Seer vs. To Be Kind

Oh gosh. I don't know.

I want to say The Seer. It's overall a better vision but To Be Kind is more fun and I find myself going to it more often.

I want to be kind to the seer
But to be kind it is

The Seer was better live and I pull it out more and art is better. I do think that "Bring The Sun / Toussaint L' Ouverture" is a slightly better 30+ minute track than "The Seer".

My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky is the best of the three post-return albums. Each successive album is diminishing returns.

I could not disagree more. In fact I pull out the bonus disc more frequently than I do that record

Hope I'm wrong , but the new songs from the live setlist sound not as great as the kind / seer stuff (youtube live quality though..)

yeah good point. i wasn't a Swans fan until I heard The Seer. I tried My Father and it didn't grab me, and neither has any of their earlier stuff. But TBK is ultimately a more accessible listen so it might have been seen as even more of a change in direction.

I listened to To Be Kind the other day and I think it's great. Maybe something to do with how soon after TS it was released coloured my opinion of it, but I'm convinced I prefer it now.
