i like "fourfiveseconds" a lot and i think her sounded needed to be refreshed after the last few albums... the whole aesthetic they pushed with that song really worked i thought

"bitch better have my money" sounded a bit generic for her off the snippets, like "pour it up" but less good. we'll see of course.

i said it sounds automatically dated and of-its-moment (or of a moment a year or two ago) compared to her recent "I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years" interview soundbyte, i'm not rushing to a verdict on whether i think the song is good or bad.

Pop singers who specialize in thumpers use "personal" as a disinfectant to wipe the supposed impersonality of the machines or something (Madonna sued to say this shit all the time).

i like Rihanna right now. she sounds fresh. i don't have many problems with Bitch Better Have My Money, American Oxygen or FourFiveSeconds. BBHMM and American Oxygen are tops.

Don't get me wrong she is awesome and this is prob my favorite video she's done since Umbrella but feels sloppily written. I'm sure the artifice is part of the point. All the acting is really believable and it's well-shot. The cinematography is really clever, like that shot in the pool, the scene framed half-underwater.

Maybe it is too good a tease for a Rihanna-starring action movie that sadly isn't actually being made. I would much rather see this movie than any of the real movies coming out this year.

What are her motives? What's her relationship to these other characters? Maybe it is best there is no full movie or full explanation, the viewer can make their own. To everybody it can be something different.

Stargate have only had a couple semi-big U.S. hits (Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" and Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow") in the 2 years since wonderfully destroying their own formula on Ylvis's "The Fox." i liked their track on the last Ne-Yo album.
