maybe wrong place -and please feel free to redirect- but i always took dee snider for being a righteous guy and someone whose music i didn't care about, but that i liked as a person. is he an ally or an edgelord?

tbh Paul Stanley's statement was so strangely worded I couldn't make heads or tails of it either. my first thought was "ah that's cool given what a shithead Gene is" then I read it again and was like....wait a sec

(i mean, yeah though. paul stanley could tweet "water is wet and the sky is blue" and i would still distance myself from it. it's usually most wise to steer clear of the assholes.)

Paul Stanley and Dee Snider were both guys I always found myself in agreement with back when I was on Twitter (even though I've never been an enormous fan of their music), so it's been a disappointing week. The right-wing disinformation machine has been at an absolute fever pitch about trans kids lately and I guess it's working and people are getting swept up in it who might have previously had more reasonable opinions.

Snider's tweet was a serious misstep but I don't think he's a transphobe or edgelord
