That Frida song rules. But I love the HoJo. Were there no more options?

Those were the best and most prominent.

guess I could have tossed in Adam Ant's "Strip."

Which version of "No One is to Blame" did Phil produce?

That shit right there is precedented. (cryptosicko), Thursday, 15 January 2015 02:02 (nine years ago) link

Huge intro to "Easy Lover" sends it over the top

Phil didn't produce "Forever Man"--it and few others were Lenny Waronker jobs added to the Phil-produced Behind The Sun after it was rejected by Warner Bros.

Which version of "No One is to Blame" did Phil produce?

The one that sounds way overproduced (on the Action Replay EP).

Glad I voted for it then!

If it was the LP version of the HoJo, that, easily. But it ain't, so Frida. I super hate the sound of those two Claptons (well, I hate the performances and the songs too tbh). Easy Lover is pretty great in that it sounds like it should be the theme from Top Gun but it's about exercising rectitude around a heartbreaker.

A long time ago I was listening to Ash Ra Temple, and as soon as the epic track stopped "Easy Lover" kicked right in, and damned if the intro did not sort of fit right in.

I much prefer the original "Couldn't Love You More"; the PC-produced version doesn't sound like a John Martyn song anymore. Whereas I like the Phil-produced "No One is to Blame" better than the stark album version.

Had no idea that was Russ Ballard. Songwriter hacks are fascinating.
