syro is good..... but caustic window blows it out of the water

I was going to say that this is like comparing early Beatles bootlegs with Abbey Road or something but that's not right. Caustic isn't Aphex's best early work by any stretch and I'd be hard pushed to say Syro eclipses CTD or even Druqks for me at this stage. But there are still parallels between the two works. As Doran says, Syro is funky but so is Caustic Window in its own fried and squelchy way, and considering the other stuff he was making around the time of CW it's arguably the one early album that points most towards the Syro sound.

Still I'm voting Syro because WTF?

I still haven't heard the full Caustic Window but I guess my lack of interest in pursuing ancient history speaks of my preference.

XP: I meant to say "so damn funky". The "damn" being what CW is missing IMHO.
