Craft Spells - Nausea

I really liked the first Craft Spells album, Idle Labor, with its power corruption and lies album cover and excellent use of sequenced bass synth. Here was a band!

This new one, though, seems like a bit of a mess. It's off in a million random directions at once. There's even some really jarring 90s coffee table trip hop beats! Then back to C86 indie chugging. Then an Eno soundscape with rain FX. Is this the Nausea of which you speak? I feel it.

I really admired the way Wild Nothing executed Empty Estate, it seems like this might have been an attempt to do the same thing, but I think it fails pretty spectacularly. What do you think.

this has some really enchanting sounds. suffers from the same problem as sweet jane, though... cool intro that carries a decent song. i'll probably check out more.

Yeah, I was super disappointed with this, it's so boring.
