Ghosts Of The Great Highway: One of the best discs of the decade.

I sort of think April is just as good, maybe better.

It was a little more polished, and it lacked some of the raw intensity of GOTGH. But April is also a v., v. good disc.

The new one starts off really well but ultimately I think it might be... bad? Kozelek sounds so petty and cranky.

admiral fells promises or is there some other new one? I didn't care for most of that album actually, it was pretty dull.

Among the Leaves, out soon.

After the masterful "Ghosts Of The Great Highway" (Daniel's comment above OTM) it's been diminishing returns for each release. I didn't even bother with the last one, maybe I'll see if Spotify has it.

April is a very nice album; not as good as Ghosts but it reminded me a lot of Ocean Beach (only not quite as good) and Songs for a Blue Guitar...really more like an RHP album. Admiral Fells just didn't stick with me at all.

heard the new one and it's somewhere in the middle. I like the band songs but some of the solo tracks kind of blow by me. But it has some funny stuff for once; Kozelek can be a funny guy and it shows, at least in the song titles (moderately talented middle aged man.... not much rhymes with everything's perfect all of the time). The song for richard collopy, who was a guitar maker in SF, is pretty touching.
