Yam Haus in the middle of our peat

There's definitely an IPA with "dank" in the name served at that festival.

Judah & the Lion appear to merely be dipshits

GGD would be fun if they didn't pretend all of their music pre-1998 didn't exist as they typically do live now

I took my younger sister to see Goo Goo Dolls and Tonic on a tour that I'm just now reminded was called "MP3.com's Music & Technology tour". I remember being surprised that they played a handful (5, as I see from setlists.fm) of songs from the pre-Boy Named Goo albums. The funniest part was when John Rzeznik forgot the lyrics to the second verse of "Name", so they played the chorus two more times in a row and ended the song.

chr1sb3singer, Thursday, 14 March 2024 19:08 (seven months ago) link

which of those bands is most likely to have the saddest mosh pit ever

xpost lol that's sad re: forgetting words. actually surprised they did 5-pre BNG songs. I think last tour I peeked at they were doing one or two

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Thursday, 14 March 2024 19:08 (seven months ago) link

I mean, this was back in 1999 so I guess they had to pad out the setlist a little at that point.

Maxmillion D. Boosted (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 14 March 2024 19:09 (seven months ago) link

ahh, I should have guessed by the name of the tour lol

There is no such band called Yam Haus, no one got together and practiced and wrote songs and said "hey I know let's call ourselves Yam Haus", impossible.

President Keyes, Friday, 15 March 2024 13:57 (seven months ago) link

Kind of telling that when I googled "Yam Haus", "Yam Haus LLC" popped up a lot. Dudes are serious.

President Keyes, Friday, 22 March 2024 23:01 (seven months ago) link

This is Dance Anthems, have some respect (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 22 March 2024 23:02 (seven months ago) link

Hot Chocolate actually seem to have three original members (not Errol of course, RIP big Tory fella). Not bad going in this day and age!

I saw three hippies saving a whale (Matt #2), Friday, 22 March 2024 23:28 (seven months ago) link

Well yeah but to be brutally honest the main reason I'd want to see Hot Chocolate is to hear Errol.

Timmy Mallet! That's incredible.

I'm imagining 'Lottery Winners' are literally some 50 something Britpop loving lottery winners who've bought their way on to the bill.

loool @ "Mike Joyce (The Smiths) *DJ Set"

only thing I would watch there is the Christians and I wouldn't really have high expectations for that

Bernard Quidbins (NickB), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:01 (seven months ago) link

I have it on good authority that Nik Kershaw is worth seeing. Paul Young might be alright too I suppose. Possibly Deniece from 5 Star although that's pushing it. The rest of it can get in the swing bin. Sonia!

I saw three hippies saving a whale (Matt #2), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:07 (seven months ago) link

my sister went to see Paul Young ten years ago and said his voice was totally shot and his performance was abysmal. But maybe thats what playing in Aylesbury does to a man

Bernard Quidbins (NickB), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:11 (seven months ago) link

I would imagine that even in his heyday Paul Young was not known for his blistering live performances.

chap, Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:13 (seven months ago) link

Would watch Man vs. DJ Food

Slorg is not on the Slerf Team, you idiot, you moron (Boring, Maryland), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:14 (seven months ago) link

For a second I thought Matt Ford's big band was the big band of centrist dishrag Matt Forde. Wouldn't be entirely un-apt.

chap, Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:18 (seven months ago) link

I'm not going to fucking google "the south" but is that some sort of beautiful south spin-off?

Bernard Quidbins (NickB), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:20 (seven months ago) link

like is it that dave guy with his granny on bongos?

Bernard Quidbins (NickB), Saturday, 23 March 2024 01:22 (seven months ago) link

haha i was almost 100% otm:

After forming "The South" in 2008, Hemingway along with Alison Wheeler from the Beautiful South line-up, released their first album since 2006 entitled Sweet Refrains. The album, featuring songs written by keyboardist Damon Butcher and guitarist Phil Barton, was recorded and released in 2012.

Don't want to post recent Paul Young videos, but christ alive I don't know how he gets any bookings at all. He's been completely fucked for years now

PaulTMA, Saturday, 23 March 2024 17:01 (seven months ago) link

touring has taken a heavy toll, he needs to spend more time recuperating at home. apparently every time he goes away he leaves a piece of him etc etc sorry
