I feel like this is almost actively discouraged of late so I do like this idea, though that album hasn't really clicked for me yet

oh man, the opener is the best!!!! but also the album doesn't really find footing until "movielike"

"my best theory" feels like a lead single from a different album, it is very out of place

lol, again, it's got a lot of problems, i love it so anyway

he was getting really into cindy sherman photography around the time and the byproduct of that is a lot of the album is from a woman's perspective

"coffee and cigarettes" for instance. and he does it without calling attention to the device at all, which is how it should be

oh lol i can see that. it does predate when that style became inescapable but unfortunately does not quite predate patient zero, "home"

invented is also the reason i know about courtney marie andrews, she did the backing vocals on the record and toured with them and is a really amazing songwriter in her own right

liking movielike, coffee and cigs and evidence from the front half of this. stop is good too. a lot more soaring electric guitar leads than im used to maybe.

whole show was really special, songs i hadn't necessarily rated came alive, really ideal. also made me realize that futures has a lot of backing vocal action and guitar fx

also can't say enough how perfect the lighting and staging is, so much atmosphere
