Ozzy hung a midget onstage.
Ozzy killed a bunch of dobermans onstage with a chainsaw.
(This was was kinda gruesome and apparently very specific to my school)
Jimi Hendrix always wore headbands because he had cut on his forhead that he would jam drugs into
(which makes no sense on a number of levels but we didn't really know shit about Hendrix or drugs at the time)
W.A.S.P. stands for either A) We Are Satan's People or B) We Are Sexual Perverts
(This was told to me at a Peter's Brothers semiar The Truth About Rock, a travellling anti-rock "crusade" show my mom took me to)
On the cover of Who's Next, the Who have just urinated on a memorial to deceased British WWII veterens.

WASP= We are Satan's People
I am not familiar with the stomach pump story. What are the details exactly?
― Mitchell (Mitchell), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:41 (twenty years ago) link
I remember hearing that Jimi would soak the headband in heroin and then it would seep into the wound on his forehead.

We Are Sexual Perverts, according to Blackie Lawless.
Why doesn't the Hendrix thing make sense? I figure it would work pretty well.

(Amount of cum varies by credulity of audience.)

There's also the varying number of men that the cum came from. I heard anywhere from seven to seventeen.
― rainman (rainman), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:52 (twenty years ago) link
I guess, but wouldn't it be easier and less messy just to shoot up or smoke it?
― M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:53 (twenty years ago) link
Then there was some even more bizarre stuff about some guy in America who used to smear himself in peanut butter and jam and cut himself and throw himself into the audience.
Of course I completely refused to believe any of it it - how gullible did these bastards think I was anyway? And if they were going to invent a character, couldn't they come up with up a slightly more credible name for him than "Iggy Pop"?

― Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 4 March 2004 17:13 (twenty years ago) link
More specifically, he was going to come onstage with a revolver, fire the first five shots into the audience, and kill himself with the final bullet.

The Kiss comic book - blood ink is true, although it was just a tiny bit of blood used.

What *did* freak me out were the Paul-is-Dead ones, which I read about in my first year of Beatlemaniacdom. I played "Revolution Number 9" backwards, and after hearing the "turn me on, dead man" bit, I was convinced this was something supernatural and refused to play the track (backwards or forwards) for years afterwards.
