Which two? The Time Has Come and the '71 greatest hits.

If I come across it, I'll give New Generation a try. (But even if I like it, there's still a good chance that I AM mad!) I wouldn't mind some Brothers Johnson recommendations either. Maybe they have a thread...

Mr. Johnson’s bass playing was prominent on Michael Jackson’s hits “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ ” and “Billie Jean.”

Did not know this. Wow. How had I never looked at the dang liner notes for this info? Shocked at myself.
