seriously i think you need to realize the difference between gay jokes about a guy who would be seriously pissed off by them because he hates gays & asshole homophobes who think anybody gay is inherently hilarious (eminem, byron crawford, etc)

something kind of interesting that I realized this morning: "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" is now Wayne's 2nd biggest (or at least highest charting) single ever (after "Go DJ," not counting R&B collabs), and it's been blowing up at pretty much the same time as the whole gay panic about him and Baby has become the obsession of the hip hop community. it might have long term repercussions for his career but it doesn't seem to have effected his Best Rapper Alive status much at all for the time being.

i'm curious to see if this continues, people worshipping Wayne as an MC while snickering about him and Baby. it wouldn't the first time hip hop fans had the utmost respect for a rapper's talent while bagging on them mercilessly for some random shit that's irrelevent when it comes to the quality of their records (see also: Jay being old/wearing sandals/whatever and the whole "he's an egomaniac asshole but who cares if the album's good" thing with Kanye) (xpost)
