I mean, yeah, it's appalling, and age obviously doesn't excuse it in the least. I get why anybody would write him off permanently, or want him nowhere near the radio/labels/other artists, etc.

I hear where you're coming from with Boosie and Keef but he's a lot more vulnerable. Not like Kendrick though, more like Drake in that transparent asshole sort of way. So not really distinctive imo. What do you mean by woozy, lava-lamp trap? Will give it a few more listens.

boosie & keef both have vulnerable records ...the idea that he's not 'distinctive' is completely wrong, hes got his own style both as a writer & in terms of his delivery
this project feels pretty uneven to me, like an odds & ends project. i do like 'patty cake' though

Well, the way Boosie does vulnerable is sort of bizarre to me and it's own thing but ok point taken. Can also somewhat agree on the delivery but not really on the writing. What's the distinctive angle?

he's much more a dense writerly writer in a traditional gucci / bun b sense than guys like keef or boosie

at least on records like "vibin in this bih" etc.
Yeah, more elaborate is putting it better than more vulnerable. Still, it doesn't feel like a strong album really. It's all over the place and none of the stops quite land.

I actually think this is the best rap album so far this year and I also like it better than most 2016 releases. He inhabits his music and it feels real.
