As a writer, I'd be worried that they'd want pitches that would guarantee clicks, as opposed to, say, the new DJ Spinn EP, but I guess we'll see...

I liked early pitchfork and Ryan's reviews because back then they didn't disguise their awfulness. Now it's so disguised that idiots actually think pitchfork is good

i feel like that's not really thread-worthy. it's the allmusic sliding-scale thing. "if you are interested enough in the idea of this record to read a review of this record, it's probably around a seven for you."

yeah, I feel like with p4k anything in the 6-7 range means "this is okay if you're already into stuff like this." Very few casual listeners are going to check out an album based on its 6.6 rating.

I haven't heard the album itself, but if it's anything like the TV performance I saw this weekend, my vote would go to "a tedious waste of everyone involved's time."

I have not heard a single note of EL VY (The National, Menomena) but the Pitchfork of the EL VY (The National, Menomena) album this morning didn't really make me want to listen to EL VY (The National, Menomena) all that much

I found it weird that they kept making it sound like Matt Berninger = The National. Same with Menomena to a slightly lesser extent.

I mean, despite whether it's acceptable formatting or not it still can be misleading.

Menomena is such a shitty band name that remains shitty after 10 years
