Wikipedia notes ""Marquee Moon", shortened on the original LP, was restored to its complete length of 10:40 on the 2003 remastered CD".10:47 actually is what I have: http://www.discogs.com/Television-Marquee-Moon/release/557233
I'll nominate it.

I'm slightly fuzzy on the rules: does AD2's "Restless Skylight Transistor Child" count? It's all one continuous track on my CD version of Tanz but its def a whole made up of discreet units with stopping and silence each time

I dunno, in my opinion a medley goes like this: Tune A -> segue -> Tube B -> segue -> Tune C -> etc. The different tunes in the medley are mostly separate entitities, they just segue from one to another. "My Sweet Lord / Today Is a Killer", on the other hand, is basically the George Harrison tune with the Nina Simone composition (which I don't think has ever been recorded as a separate song) inserted as a short C part, after which she goes back to "My Sweet Lord" for the rest of the performance. If you're not familiar with the George Harrison's original, you wouldn't even notice the insertion, you'd think it's all one song.

Personally I'd say that "classical" is a piece of music with a score that could, theoretically, be played on "standard" instrumentation. So Arvo Part = classical, Alvin Lucier's I Am Sitting In A Room doesn't.
I totally agree with this, I don't think the Pärt piece should count. "Spiegel Im Spiegel" doesn't have any a definite length in minutes, it depends on the performance, plus it has different arrangements by Pärt too. I have one recording of it arranged for cello and piano that only lasts 9 minutes.

It's funny to see Steve Reich mentioned since he seems (along with some of the other big-name minimalists, & distinct from John Cage) to have reacted in a unique way to the advent of the "recorded music era", which is of course the inescapable horizon of this thread premise -- in other words, his work looks incomplete when viewed from here. But I love about 4 or 5 discs of that ginormous boxset I picked up for cheap based on ILM buzz, so I'm happy whatever we decide about his eventual eligibility for our silly little poll :P
