Well huh. So I got a promo of his forthcoming album Auto Music today but board vet Mackro is who tipped me off to this story mentioning Shields and Hollis's participation, along with linking the Shields collaboration for listening:

After a first listen to the whole thing: lovely album, varied -- the sample track is definitely not the whole. Touches on everything from motorik to math rock jams to epic film music of a sort, all instrumental. Don't know if I would have recognized either Shields or Hollis or anyone else on here without the tipoff, it just exists in its own place. Ends on an uplifting, sweet note too. I could see this becoming a quiet but persistent favorite through the year.

Oh and apparently he's the dude doing the music for Hannibal too. So hm!

His Hannibal music is really special.

Yeah, his score for that show is great — subtle at times, jarring at others.

Also, I need to correct the Hollis mention -- he's not on the album itself (more's the pity!) but Reitzell IS the guy who commissioned music from Hollis for the show Boss.

Scrambled eggs all over your face.

five months pass...

Any thoughts on Auto Music. I've had it on a few times, it's epic-ish krautrock but missing something. Perhaps.
