it's just a bandz a make her dance rehash, which at first iw as like "oh come on" but i love bandz so much i kinda came around to it

yeah i did dismiss it for a while also & the chorus is still problematic imo but idk i really love the verses & will take a bands sequel any day

Self-centered aside: even though I have fairly eclectic taste (though maybe not particularly so by ILM-standards) I do find that I tend to be primarily excited about one, or at most a few, different types of music at a time. Like for much of 2013, the big thing for me was getting a handle of some sort on so much more dance/dance pop music than I used to like. And while that's added a lot more new pop to my listening, it's almost all dance pop. (Other things I've had time for this year have tended to be a lot less commercial.) Like, I'm making my way through this playlist and trying to fill in some gaps in what I heard of the poll winners, but I'm really just waiting to getting back to DJ Q mixes.

I think that eclectic but narrowly focused at a given time thing probably started in my mid-20s, and has probably become more extreme over time.
