(Unspoken in this case, that is, but I've heard the entire thing often enough.)

Three of H&L's last 5 gigs have been in the same pub, why not go along and heckle?

(The Wenlock & Essex, Islington)

I'm sure some of their friends play the ukelele, better go get their talent show recordings from the student union, wouldn't want to miss the free material

today on a 'local' borad I look at this dude, a grown man, was trying to gee ppl up to go and see one of those screamo crunk bands or whatever they're called now purely to heckle them. I doubt anyone will bother but it was kind of lol because Grant Hart is playing literally ten feet away in another venue (this is tomorrow) and there will probably be like 30 people there

I think the only time I've seen a band being heckled was when I saw Electrelane at Liverpool University Student's Union in 2002.

like what's up with the "rapper" over the very white happy families? I mean, is it trying to be edgy or racially inclusive or something?

This is a particularly nasty and cynical piece of ad exec manipulation. The whole point of advertising is to engage with a broad demographic and evoke an emotional response on a sub-conscious level. Notice how the protagonist family is young, white and middle-class- they are “cool” enthusiastic youth football supporters who go to imaginary festivals and do crosswords in their bare feet. The vocals are fake working-class London youth but the music itself is girly acoustic pop, aping The Lumineers. I find it disingenuous to say it’s “inspired” by Ian Dury when it’s only ripping his original concept (they’re actually lucky he’s dead). I can believe that people might actually like the music since our appreciation for real music has been very deliberately sucked dry. Dumbing-down a nation’s appreciation of the arts is a conscious ploy (heralded by people like Simon Cowell and advertising execs) so that they can sell you shit- like this car.

Well this advert confirms that the people who drive shitty cars like this are brain dead idiots. Vauxhall are targeting this group of people, the same low IQ fools that speak with a Jamaican accent even tho they are white and from Oxfordshire, the type that watch Eastenders” and model their lives on it, the type that watch the x factor instead of educating their snivelling kids Oh and the “Rapper” that is squirting this diarrhea out has the worst vocals I’ve ever heard. Get this crap off my TV!!.

Carl, my comments were not an attack on you. I was trying to raise your awareness of throwing stones whilst living in glass houses!
I graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from Cambridge University (Clare College) in 1998, having read (and thoroughly enjoyed) English Language. I was known as ‘The Princess of Parenthesis’.
I do hope you find this information of value, and perhaps even find this presents an opportunity for you to learn a little more about how our wonderful language is, and can be, constructed in a variety of ways.
Your observation of the time I last posted is accurate regarding the hour, however your assumptive suggestion is way off the mark!!! There are many appropriate sayings I could reference: ‘Time waits for no man’ springs to mind immediately. Yet I feel this, an ancient Chinese saying (roughly translated) may provoke useful thoughts:
‘The man who lives by the watch, misses seeing so very much’.
I wish you well and hope you have a great day; I’m off for a spin on my Honda Fireblade (not an ounce of Astra rust in sight!!!)

A completely unique artist in his field, Sense is now widely perceived as one of the true pioneers of conscious lyricism within Drum and Bass music working with a wide variety of artists including Lynx, Zero T, Vicious Circle,Alix Pirez and many more.

An unusual and potent combination of heartfelt poetry, social commentary and a complete disregard for convention or the rule-book has gained him a cult following worldwide.

Sense is also a veteran of London’s pirate radio scene having appeared on more or less every influential station over the last decade including Don FM, Ruud Awakening and his now regular haunt on the resurgent Flex FM 99.7 where he can be found most Friday nights (8-10pm GMT) alongside his partner in crime Billion as half of the ‘Fathom Audio’ team (www.fathomaudio.com).
Having retired from ‘professional’ Drum and Bass MC’ing in 2008 due to a spinal injury and subsequent surgeries he has since been concentrating on other parts of his craft including acoustic songwriting, poetry and writing a series of books for children. He has also been influential within UK Hip Hop appearing on releases alongside the likes of KRS-1, Rodney P and Skinnyman.

Recently he has decided to give all his Hip Hop tunes away for free download (www.soundcloud.com/billion) and the videos are available on Youtube.

Sense is a founder member of the Grass Roots Family who are independantly releasing their long awaited debut later this year.
In reality, Sense could not be further away from most people’s view of a stereotypical D’n'B MC.
A fierce commitment to lyrical content and originality ensures this is likely to be the case for a while to come yet….

that seems to be him

I booed at the end of the film Inception and during a Kanye West video shoot/show when he was two hours late coming on stage but I kind of think it's bad form normally. I saw Magick Markers get booed so hard they just stopped playing and slunk off stage. It was pretty brutal. I mean, they weren't very good admittedly but if you're watching so-called 'out there' music you've got to take a leap of the imagination/have an open mind or whatever.
