I wanted to vote but am on holiday. Ballot would have had a lot of 'technique'. Looking forward to the results.

i expect my #1 to be at least top 5 - but i reckon i'll be well on my own with my #2

I'll be amazed if my #1 appears on anyone else's ballot tbh

You shouldn't joke about that. You're getting my hopes up.
― Millsner, Monday, 27 May 2013 15:27 (ten years ago) link
no one has mentioned my #1 afaik but i'm confident it'll squash the competitioneveryone loves "world in motion" right?

the elephant in the room, surely a #1 contenderhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5UK40sSo8I

might as well admit it... that's my number one. On some days, I really do feel that it might be my favourite song of all time.
And this is still one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on the Internet:

I admit I didn't vote for it, because to me it's more "Joy Division", the b-side sounds especially like Ian. (The a-side, less so)
― Mark G, Monday, 27 May 2013 20:15 (ten years ago) link
the 12" does credit the song to joy division
― the girl from spirea x (f. hazel), Monday, 27 May 2013 20:19 (ten years ago) link
maybe but who will take credit for "world in motion"?!
― free your spirit pig (La Lechera), Monday, 27 May 2013 20:24 (ten years ago) link
ASCAP lists both 'Ceremony' and 'In A Lonely Place' as being composed by Curtis/Hook/Morris/Sumner.

'World In Motion' is worth it for this bit:

and the way Peter Beardsley badly mimes "express yourself" in the video.

Allen wrote the Barnes rap, right? It's a clear precursor to the England's Irie rap

Yeah, I think so... I think he had a hand in the lyrics generally, though, not just the rap.

huh, listening to Lost Sirens again and I may have made a mistake in not considering "Hellbent" for my ballot

i am digging that album. just listening to it on spotify. there is nothing brilliant like eg bizarre love triangle of course but even the leftovers of their last album are pretty solid and mostly quite lovely. are they ever going to reform? hooky doing joy division and early new order albums live is really sad, recycling and reviving the past, what a waste of time.

The pristine mix helps "Hellbent"

I must be the only one who thinks "Hooky had a point" and that he's O.K. Really.

this is coming together quite nicely. i have seen a few of the photos that Millsner has put together for us. looking outstanding.
