20-song ballot was more brutal on this poll than any other, imo.

Irwin Dante's Towering Inferno (WmC), Sunday, 9 September 2012 23:30 (eleven years ago) link

Both of those were late cuts for me. "Sea & Sand" has a great arrangement, but I think some of the lyric is too pat. (But that goes for Quadrophenia as a whole, so ehhh)

I love Quadrophenia but it's not really a singles album for me... I like it as a whole thing

Disguises was my #2. I suspect it's because a Toronto band I used to revere did a blistering cover of it, and that's the version I really love.

Two old Toronto guys detour thread...Didn't realize this had started. I believe "Love Ain't for Keeping" was the last thing I cut, when I added one more early song.

what kind of 60s vs. post-60s ratio did y'all end up with on your ballots? mine kind of accidentally was a perfect 50/50

Christmas is too low but it's hard to separate from Eyesight to the Blind which I'm sure will place higher

right?

I didn't feel like a big enough fan to vote in this poll - following the rollout to discover the stuff I don't know — but now I feel like I should have done just in order to hoist Armenia up the list. Such a psych classic.

Live version of "Heaven and Hell" was my favorite for a while on the Leeds album.

"Sparks" is probably one of the first songs i ever learned how to play. I had a tab of the entire Tommy album and would practice playing it to stadium crowds in the living room.

Whoever said they thought "Who Are You" was a new band that wrote a song about their name was otm. I thought that exact thing when i heard this on the radio when i was 5 or something.

Hard to think of another band with as great a set-opener as "Heaven and Hell."
