I didn't vote for it, but I really like "Delius" -- it has a very Duke-era Genesis feel to it.

"Rubberband Girl" = most underrated single

On US college radio at least it was the last bit of magic and weirdness before the post-grunge fog covered the landscape for the next 438 years.

I find the line "a rubberband holding trousers up" a very pleasing one

and she imitates a rubberband as well as she does a donkey

I always thought it was "A rubberband hold me trousers up."

My main memory of that record is of it being premiered on Radio 1 and Simon Mayo saying something like "She's a bit mad, isn't she?" and then - HO HO - she walks into the studio.

Love the orchestral fretless interlude in this. As Savetherobot used to impress upon me when we were kids, Eberhard Weber is the secret weapon on The Dreaming and super important to the sound of this record.

i love "there goes a tenner" though i'm not sure it quite made my ballot

a while back i realised that nicki minaj's english accent is performed in pretty much the same way as kate bush's cockney accent - like on surface it's a terrible terrible approximation of an "authentic" accent but these women know wtf they're doing and they are fucking with us because they can and it's fun, basically

(all of minaj's accents and bush's accents tbh)

I'm still on zero votes placing but it's a great list nonetheless!

i thought "all the love" was the worst track on the dreaming for about seven years after i first heard the album (maybe because it's the most straightforward moment?) but when it clicked it really clicked, and it was on my ballot

So far a bunch of mine have made it in which gives me hope!

Two of the four Dreaming cuts that didn't make my ballot, but happy to see them because I love the whole record. "All the Love" is a great song about friendship -- not just what it means, but how to do it.

(I love the line about how her friends think she's up to "something weird".)

i was spellbound by "snowflake" a lot when the album came out but i could not listen to it much less vote for it in august

Amazing - that live vid. Mick Karn, Townshend, Phil Collins and KB stunningly beautiful.

That *is* Collins?! I was just chuckling at how unglamorous the band looked.

Kate's top falls off at 3:30 btw, but she carries on like a trooper.
