This one I'm bummed I cut so thanks to all who voted for it.

xp Of course there's no correct answer. I just don't have that response to songs. In various polls I've placed songs like Waterloo Sunset or Enjoy the Silence high because it doesn't matter how many times I hear them they're still great. I only get tired of a song if (like Satisfaction) I didn't truly love it in the first place. I've worn out songs at certain times but they've always bounced back. I'm amazed that so many people consider something as good as Fight For Your Right played out. When the feds take away the right to party I'll know who to blame.

I didn't slight it because it was popular, I slighted it because it doesn't do anything for me anymore. That it was popular just means I still hear it even though I'd rather not.

EggMan still does it for me tho

The Superfly groove, the Psycho strings...all of it is just a grooveathon and I freaking love it

xpost well you're wrong and one day you'll realize what you've done and the party will be long gone and it'll be all your fault
I only get tired of a song if (like Satisfaction) I didn't truly love it in the first place.
Last thing I'll say, I've sidetracked this enough already. I can think of many, many songs I once loved that I got tired of. I do not, for a second, start wondering if that means I never loved them in the first place. Of course I did.

I didn't vote for it either. I was making a point, but I've already forgotten what it was.

it is great, don't get me wrong. if was gonna vote for 10 songs off LTI, it would totally be #8.

Rhymin has to be in my top 5 of all-time awesome album openers --- and one of my LTI faves

I actually like Fight for Your Right more now than I did when it came out, but I really didn't like it when it came out. Took me hearing more of the album to decide they weren't no-talent jerks.
"Brass Monkey" otoh was in my top 5. On the soundtrack to countless college parties.

I wouldn't give up on seeing "hold it, now hit it"
"fight for yr right" was not one of my favorite tracks on LTI, it was OK but seemed like a "she's on it" retread and, compared to the other stuff on the album, was punching below their weight. then the single hit and it became really annoying really quickly. at this point I don't hate it and get the cultural significance but also never need to hear it again.
