I love the transition in this thread from "hrmmm, don't know about this" to "wow, Actress is totes buff!"

His eyebrows kinda spoil it for me. I know I'm weird, that I can get turned off an otherwise completely fit bloke by not liking his eyebrows, but I am really funny about eyebrows.

I think I have vagina fatigue. Like, there are so many beautiful artists on this thread I can't even contemplate which ones are attractive any more.

So instead I'm going to do self-indulgent gender theory for a minute... but, for real, I keep thinking about the switch in terminology on this thread.

Like, one of the reasons that I've been so hostile towards "would smash" threads is because I really, really hate that phrase. It just sounds so uncomfortable and painful. If you are the possessor of a vagina, then the idea of having it smashed into atoms or whatever is not sexy, it is knee-crossingly painful and awkward. And that is not the best state to enjoy some perving. So the flip in terminology at the start of the thread, yes, it was a jokey reference to an ILX clusterfuck, but I've decided that it's a worthwhile metaphor, and a different way of looking at sexual attraction - that "would smash" just has such violent and painful associations, but "I want to put that person in (the orifice of my choice)" is much more like how we listen to music, the whole idea of music being this lovely thing we put into our ears and into our brains.

Probably won't catch on, unfortunately.

When I can get Spodify working again, I do want to see if I can make a playlist of this thread. I bet it would be awesome. But YouTubes are great in the meanwhile, because Coal's dancing boys are cuet.

Armand has always looked, at bare minumum, 130% gayer than Tiga has ever seemed

Armand Van Helden sort of looks like he came out of a boy band but I can definitely acknowledge some peeps would be attracted to him.

Moka, Monday, 16 April 2012 16:32 (twelve years ago) link

smash is not so different from nail, screw, bang, etc. even fuck; one of its (contested obv) etymological roots is the germanic fuk/fok which means to strike, with words across the germanic family meaning either striking or sex or both

not that that changes the argument.

i...also had no idea armand looked like that. woooow.

A blast from the past:

Described by Time Magazine as "a cross between Carl Sagan and Madonna", astrophysicist, author and recording artist Fiorella Terenzi has studied opera and composition at Conservatory G. Verdi, Corsi Popolari Serali and taught mathematics and physics at Liceo Scientifico, Milan. In research at the Computer Audio Research Laboratory, University of California, San Diego, she developed techniques to convert radio waves from galaxies into sound - released by Island Records on her acclaimed CD "Music from the Galaxies".

xp mb oh yeah i forgot there was a brief meme about that. i agree "smash" is unflattering but idk about this as an alternative, makes me imagine someone like, shrinking someone and then letting them crawl around inside their vagina??

The body might be boy band, but it's that facial blend of (per Wikipedia) Dutch-Indonesian father/French-Lebanese mother that does it for me.

That, and sexy videos like this:

I must really just be into dudes with slightly scary smiles because I mean, really...

Two years after it happened!

I have about a billion remixes of that song! Why did I never have that one?

Or did I find about it and my brain just chose to ignore it because the immense ladyboner power of the idea of Lindstrom and Four Tet making beautiful wibble together melted my memory creation circuits?

one year passes...

While trying to restore all the bookmarks I lost overnight, I re-found this thread. Kinda sad (RIP), kinda LOL.

Aphex Twin is back and hotter than ever.

Benjamin is obviously no longer with us but I've got a super-crush on the guitarist from his brother's current band. (But I don't think he can be included as an "electronic artist" until he records an album full of SAWs. I'm not holding my breath.)

Thom Yorke finally shed all of his hottness by starting a shitty, shitty band with dude from RHCP and growing a Santa Claus beard *shudders*.

Who are the hottest dudes working in Electronic Music today. Enquiring Minds want to know.
