Why Lindsay Buckingham, why now? Did I miss an explanation post?

Over the past few months I have become fascinated by Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac. I had always liked their music but for whatever reason this stuff has become a lot more interesting and resonant for me recently...Also, I figured that there were probably a significant number of readers who either were not very aware of Lindsey’s music or hadn’t given it much thought.

Considering who likely reads Fluxblog in 2011, this is probably true.

I was worried Fluxblog would wind up being a casualty of this current blog assault. RIP blogs, indeed. At least Matthew has other gigs now.

dunno, seemed sort of reckless for him to post those ridiculously large "year overview" things recently. literally thousands of songs, all (or at least most) commercially available.

Yeah, that was a lot of what worried me. They were awesome, but still, probably not the best time to do it.

Sadly, this is turning out to be pretty true. Third hand information, but I heard through a friend of a friend this weekend that he got a cease and desist email for posting album covers on his blog.

tbh this kind of thing has looked like an inevitability for at the very least 4-5 years now. i tried to stop posting anything that might make my sites a target way back then, i just hope they're only really paying attention to things that were posted recently but i don't know if that's naive to think.

heh i just got a DMCA complaint notification on my blogger account. of course it doesn't say WHAT post they took down, but it's probably a really old one from years ago when i sporadically posted mp3s. anyone have an idea how at risk i am for getting the whole thing taken down or if i should just start deleting any old expired mp3 link just to be safe, or is this all guesswork right now?
