Looking forward to the tracks rollout. Moreso than with albums I think personal taste is idiosyncratic and likely to diverge from the canon. I can picture a consensus top 20 but the bottom half of the list is anybody's guess. One-hit wonders are likely to rise higher than major artists with a dozen tracks in contention.

So, you are going to do 20 tracks a day? Does that seem kind of heavy to anyone else? I think with tracks there is going to be more discovery/re-discovery and people actually taking the time to listen and judge and reply. 10 a day might be more manageable although that would take nearly 2 weeks to roll it all out, which might get old, idk. I don't really care, I'll be involved either way, just throwing it out there.

1. i had to work yesterday and saturday so i had no time to tally until today.

2. no-one but sports fans check ilx on weekends.

3. week long polls are what ilx is used to, can't be fucked w/ ppl bitching for something different happening

most of the tracks would be singles, so you can just use single covers and put numbers on them?

also if yr invoking old ILX polls, a longer roll-out would give you time to pull cool quotes from ILX history for the results...

BTW was there ever the thread made with just the 2010 pictures so they could be viewed full-size?

Not to be a pain in the arse, but I was kind of counting on this being over this Friday so I could roll out the Pavement poll on Monday. There will definitely be some overlap between the two re: readers.
