yeah sorry but when we're referring to the same song title in like 20 posts in a row it feels a little ridiculous to type all 4 words every single time (xpost)

btw sorry to nitpick but "Casanova" features Justin Timberlake

ANYWAY i think i'm gonna vote "give it to me"

b.o.s.e. (banned ones still envy) (J0rdan S.), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:06 (twelve years ago) link

I know JT had to Grow Artistically but I wish he'd sung variations on "Girlfriend" for the entirety of his adult life.

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:07 (twelve years ago) link

"casanova" is really dope

b.o.s.e. (banned ones still envy) (J0rdan S.), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:07 (twelve years ago) link

i just tried listening to "dick in" w/o the video and i found it hard to pay attention as soon as Andy Samberg started mumbling

love you like a frat kid loves Cake (Tape Store), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:08 (twelve years ago) link

the "knock on her boots" line in "3-Way" always makes me think of Andy K clowning on The Weeknd

a http://bit.ly/kv895M (some dude), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:09 (twelve years ago) link

"Dick In" is definitely the best possible abbreviation of the title

a http://bit.ly/kv895M (some dude), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:11 (twelve years ago) link

lol

i like dick in a box but not as, like, a song

lebroner (D-40), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:11 (twelve years ago) link

more as like a literal dick in a box

lebroner (D-40), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:12 (twelve years ago) link

*zings self first*

lebroner (D-40), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:12 (twelve years ago) link

98 degrees would have titled it "Dick (in a Box)"

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:17 (twelve years ago) link

ha, his "can't believe it" verse is kinda sweet

b.o.s.e. (banned ones still envy) (J0rdan S.), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:19 (twelve years ago) link

rev are you voting 'shades' specifically cos of jt's input or just cos u like the song most in general

bugs the absolute living shit out of me when ppl do the latter

― r|t|c, Thursday, June 2, 2011 5:54 PM Bookmark

Latter. Didn't give it much thought. Would have voted for "Dick" if voting by the former criterion.

Spo-Dee-O-Dee-Dopaliscious! (The Reverend), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:20 (twelve years ago) link

JT's verse on "Shades" is kinda post "Dick In" anyway.

Tim F, Friday, 3 June 2011 01:20 (twelve years ago) link

crazy that it's been 5 years since FS/LS

b.o.s.e. (banned ones still envy) (J0rdan S.), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:21 (twelve years ago) link

JT's verse on "Shades" is kinda post "Dick In" anyway.

it's closer to "Coit Us"

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 3 June 2011 01:22 (twelve years ago) link

this list is a really good argument that JT should NOT get back in the studio, ugh there is some total shit here, of which the most egregious might be the actually worthless "give it to me" with its weak zings and insufferable, unwarranted smugness, and i can't believe anyone reps for it! (nb "the way i are" on the other hand is one of the finest songs of the 00s.)

smh at voting for comedy too, "dick in a box" is like...the opposite of laughter. also at no point did we get to see JT's cock so further demerits for that.

god the resolutely generic-if-enjoyable "love sex magic" is actually in with a shot here.

1. shades
2. cold case love
3. ayo technology
4. love sex magic
5. rehab

^^the only 5 i have the slightest inclination to vote for, only the first three are unreservedly great. "shades" pips "cold case love" because it's the first time in the past 5 years that i've felt JT himself is a somewhat interesting presence on a song.

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Friday, 3 June 2011 06:12 (twelve years ago) link

oh i guess i actually like "dead & gone" too but getting to meet JT in the californian desert where they shot the video has a lot to do with that

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Friday, 3 June 2011 06:14 (twelve years ago) link

Motherlover is the powerhouse one, though.

lol @ all the Esmee Denters here

he's prob had a great time fucking her the past couple years tbh

voted "cold case love"

i genuinely thought when i first joined that he was the admin (ilxor), Friday, 3 June 2011 06:48 (twelve years ago) link

I've sort of lost interest in him. The last time I probably actually enjoyed him was on the original Shock Value tracks, he became an all out boring parody of himself after all of those unfunny SNL skits. If this were 2007 I'd still be crazy about his material but not now.

gonna vote for "Miles Away" since no one else will, definitely the best song on that Madonna album...

The Brainwasher, Friday, 3 June 2011 11:47 (twelve years ago) link

also this remix of it is dope:

"give it to me" is kind of a dumb song with a really great beat.

this is pre-futuresex but a jam (although not as much of a jam as the eric benet song with the same name): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eIjf6kDrJk

I mean, if you're voting "Dick in a Box," you're presumably voting for the video, and if you're voting for a video, you might as well include his performances in ALPHA DOG and THE SOCIAL NETWORK

Or "We're the dancers."

ughhh you people and your comedy

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 23:06 (twelve years ago) link

the most worthless, lazy generic crap on this list is preferable to anything the lonely island have touched

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 23:07 (twelve years ago) link

just tell me which way you like that

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 23:12 (twelve years ago) link

the only thing funnier than "Dick In A Box" right now is lex's hatred of comedy

1. cold case love
2. slow dance

positive rapper (k3vin k.), Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:00 (twelve years ago) link

he co-wrote "Slow Dance" and yeah it is awesome

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:03 (twelve years ago) link

that first keri album had a few sleeper deep cuts, but "slow dance" is definitely the cut - i remember loving "make love" and "alienated" too

positive rapper (k3vin k.), Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:15 (twelve years ago) link

"intuition"!!

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:16 (twelve years ago) link

When did "Until Yesterday," that Timberlake co-write/co-produce track for JC Chasez, come out?

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:45 (twelve years ago) link

you're the only person who knows it exists, you tell me

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:51 (twelve years ago) link

I remember it: 2007, I think. We reviewed it in the old Jukebox.

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:52 (twelve years ago) link

there's a live youtube of it from a week before FS/LS was released, so i won't lose sleep over its omission

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 9 June 2011 01:55 (twelve years ago) link

one year passes...

people really need to look at this list again before they get too hyped about JT maybe making another album

some dude, Tuesday, 7 August 2012 19:56 (eleven years ago) link

I don't think he's going to make another album until he's completely washed out at his attempts at movie stardom and at that point no is going to be left to care.
