Can anyone identify this tune I heard at a club a while ago? Basically it was the instrumental version of "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough", but it had none of Michael Jackson's vocals, they were replaced by some rapping that sounded kinda old school (though from the sound of it I assumed the tune wasn't actually from the 80s, probably more recent). Unfortunately I was too drunk to remember any of the lyrics.

No, it's not that, that one still has MJ's vocals. The version I heard had no other vocals than the rap, and I don't think the rapper was Jay-Z either. Also, it had a lot more rapping than the Jay-Z mashup (two or three verses, maybe even more).

What is the song in this AXE commercial (I can't even find the US version on youtube anymore):

I tried yahoo answers, I tried the iPhone song ID app to no avail. I'm beginning to suspect it was written for this commercial, but it's too good to be a jingle. Please help me, ILM.

Okay, I'd like to identify another rap tune I've heard at clubs. I think it's pretty recent, probably released during the last 2-3 years. It's a fairly uplifting/dancey tune with a man rapping the verses, and a female choir singing the chorus, which goes "NEW YOOORK [ascending], NEW YOOORK [descending]". Does anyone know this?

I still haven't found the "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough" rap remix I mentioned upthread though (it's not the one Zvookster linked to), would appreciate your help with that one.

don't have any idea there, sorry.

I swear my student union's clubnight plays a will smith vocal over the top of it. I only ever remember the "yeah, more like MICRO-SOOOOOFT" line.

it'll be one of them.
most likely candidate is Mr. On & Jungle Brothers - Breathe Don't Stop

any help?

sometimes all it takes is a healthy dose of continental indiepop (tomofthenest), Wednesday, 30 March 2011 13:01 (thirteen years ago) link

It's not the Jungle Brothers one - the version I heard was longer, didn't have any rap vocals during the chorus (just the strings from the original tune, and possibly a bit of MJ's wailing, but nothing else of his vocals), and the rapping sounded pretty old school. Also, I think it had only one guy rapping during the whole tune.

I'll look into the other tunes listed on the page...

Also, the song was pretty long, I think as long as the original "Don't Stop".

No, the rapper had a lower voice than Q-Tip, and a more old-school rapping style, plus the backing track wasn't chopped as much as in that tune. Someone upthread mentions hearing Will Smith on top of the Don't Stop instrumental, and I think this might've been it (the rapper certainly sounded like Will Smith), but I can't find any info on this supposed Will Smith mashup.
