Uh, I guess whether anyone responds will show me whether anyone cares that I posted that here instead of being more discriminating, genre-wise.

Mouth to mouth remixes should be interesting. Easily in the top 5 tracks of last year for me, perhaps with the No fit state remix by Audion also in there.

'octagonal' is.. so good. i like a good amount of cadenza stuff. loco dice is sort of down there on my list (he's *okay*), but eh. Yamore is sick shit.

cadenza is putting out some pretty special music

"? but this is a list of 3 out of 4 of Cadenza's latest 12"s.

I like it all apart from Digitaline and Cadenza 03."

Ah, for some reason I thought that Digitaline and the NSI singles came out after "Yamore (Remix)". Ha ha mainly because vinyl stores over here only caught on to Cadenza in 2006 so they got all the releases in at once.

I'm also not so into the Pepe Bombilla track on the flip of "Yamore".

If there was a hypothetical "Seeing Through Shadows"/"Orchidee" 12 inch it would be just about unimpeachable.

you guys are on fire here

nique (nique), Friday, 19 January 2007 00:11 (seventeen years ago) link

that audio werner is really really good....

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 19 January 2007 00:12 (seventeen years ago) link

that pepe bombilla b-side is great! i didn't think the harmonica would work but it totally does. the only problem is the overeager mastering that causes lots of outwards skips near the inside, although i guess they make allright loops. good for screwing with a crowd's heads for a few measures.

so... is pepe luciano?

the table is the table (treesessplode), Friday, 19 January 2007 02:30 (seventeen years ago) link

Well Pepe Bombilla sounds like the fakest name ever and that's his only release I think (discogs confirms this), so perhaps. Why to break heart techno guys with your mysterious pseudonymous ways :'( In a similar vein: who is Pom Pom for the love of God?!

this record proves it i guess: http://www.discogs.com/release/142143

Only post-Weetamix Luciano I've never heard (or even heard of 'til just this moment). I didn't hear about Weetamix 'til pretty recently either. Some hot 2002 bobbins!

jimn (jimnaseum), Friday, 19 January 2007 02:39 (seventeen years ago) link

how are 1/2 and 2/2?

Dunno, pre-Weetamix!

I'm working on redeeming my Beatport voucher as well and I just listened to the sample of Octagonal. I'll definitely be purchasing it now. It reminds me a of half Basic Channel and half Henrik Schwarz. I need to revive the Schwarz thread because I can't stop listening to the fellow. I was gonna get all Schwarz tracks, but I think I'll need to get Octagonal as well.

Anyone know when Giorgio Gigli's Direct to the Brain is going to be released - sources said August '06 and I'm not sure how much longer I can wait...

natedey (ndeyoung), Saturday, 20 January 2007 06:53 (seventeen years ago) link

I got it on slsk months ago, but in terrible bitrate -- and he has another one on his myspace page newer than that. both discogs and eletronnica romana pages no help!

not sure where i read, but disagree w/any static on ananda/becker single -- these tracks take a bit to get going, but very much like where they end up

Dominique (dleone), Sunday, 21 January 2007 07:42 (seventeen years ago) link

also see Andrea Paganin & Mauro Alpha 'Fractal' single - nice, a bit mystical sounding, definitely minimal

Dominique (dleone), Sunday, 21 January 2007 07:59 (seventeen years ago) link

POM POM remains anonymous. Though it is confirmed by several that he works at a relatively famous Berlin record store.

trying to redeem my beatport voucher did my head in today - have obv not done it yet.

'eclipse' by moonbeam, on traum, is really astonishingly great, so much drama in it.

as is the b-side 'sunshine'! woo!

Hug album Heroes (I think on Kompakt) is surprisingly good -- tho maybe not since it is just *Hug* stuff. imo John Dahlback releases way too much stuff

Dominique (dleone), Tuesday, 23 January 2007 15:16 (seventeen years ago) link

It is surprisingly good, true. I've only given it a cursory listen but I seem to remember my favourite track being a spooky number, maybe two or three from the end. When I say "spooky" I'm meaning Luigi's Mansion cartoon spooky rather than Ringu spooky.

jimn (jimnaseum), Tuesday, 23 January 2007 16:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Eyerer & Chopstick Haunting. Christopher Just remix is fucking horrendous Ed Banger style offal. Didn't make it past the first minute. Sleeper thief remix is good, sounds like it could be on Mobilee, maybe a little too much, but definitely enjoyable. Original mix starts off ok, when it builds it goes downhill - horrible, gaudy, blergh. Gui Boratto remix is so so.

jimn (jimnaseum), Saturday, 3 February 2007 00:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Estroe's "Driven" on Connaisseur Superior is absolutely amazing.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 3 February 2007 00:54 (seventeen years ago) link

yes it's a bit of an anthem isn't it, very chicagooey and new wavey. new kalabrese is tight but maybe for the deep thread?? it's so s l o w.

That’s right our kid, iO Music continues its drive to become one of the UK's leading purveyors of all that's electronic and house (hey, just don't call it Electro House!). With this stunning fresh new single from one of the hottest production teams in electronic house Martin Eyerer and Chi-Thien Nguyen, better known as Chopstick and Eyerer. If you know the difference between house (as in where you live) and house (the music) chances are you'll have heard of these guys. Both hugely influential producers in their own right: Martin with releases on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Above The Sky, and Unsubmissive, alongside numerous collaborations and side projects, whilst Chopstick has released music through Hooj, Silly Spider and his own Criminal Records. Both sides of the team have a huge amount of support from such deck luminaries as Digitalism, Chloe, Moguai, Funk D'void and Tom Neville, whilst the list of artists this duo have remixed include Kosheen, Snap, Simply Red, Deelite, Cassius, Deep Dish, LL Cool J, XZibit, Britney 'single again' Spears and Madonna. It's fair to say we could actually run out space for famous people, DJ's and labels that this duo have either remixed, been supported by or had records released by and that, our friends, is no mean feat!

I really like the gui boratto remix of haunting - I suppose it's not anything special, but I find it really charming in that light-kompakt-style-by-numbers way. The original though is utter toss, bludgeoning and boring.

cannot wait to hear the new kalabrese!

josh. (disco stu), Saturday, 3 February 2007 18:10 (seventeen years ago) link

Me too. Skamel was my favourite track on the last Superlongevity.

new Kalabrese streaming on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/stattmusik

tpp (tpp), Saturday, 3 February 2007 18:31 (seventeen years ago) link

side 1 of the part1 (of the kalabrese album) 12" is super good. not so into side 2 but it might be a grower. really looking forward to part 2. kalabrese rules.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Saturday, 3 February 2007 18:42 (seventeen years ago) link

this kalabrese is amazing, but then again pretty much everything i've heard by him has been. listening to the new one now.

that estroe single has a jamie jones remix on the flip. how is it?

xpost. he does!

this is the shizzle

rio natsume (rio natsume), Saturday, 3 February 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

this track by him is still my fave.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Saturday, 3 February 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

"Not the Same Shoes" is really the bees knees. And I really didn't like "Skamel" when listened to it...time to try it again...

natedey (ndeyoung), Saturday, 3 February 2007 23:47 (seventeen years ago) link

i can't get enough of the kalabrese, can't wait to get it on vinyl. don't know if there are any tracks i'd play out much (perhaps "deep") but certainly for an early/late set there's stuff that could work. i'm loving crowdpleaser's remix of "auf dem hof" too.

sascha funke has two new tracks on bpitch.... nice, but not nearly as hard-hitting as his last couple of singles. either breathers or growers, i haven't figured it out yet.
