My weblog is called zilverberg.tk and it's about music I like (alternative, indie and rock). I try to update it at least on a daily basis and I have personal charts and links to a lot of MP3's and I could go on for hours about how great it is, but you'll have to see it to believe it. Oh, and if anyone knows a cool or suitable name for it feel free to make suggestions.

Note to self: start blog about music someone else likes.

The pretentiously-named A Joshua Tree In Every Pot which has absolutely, positively nothing to do with the U2 album.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 17 April 2003 18:53 (twenty-one years ago) link

na realidade não

I like it how putting this link on here has given me a steady stream of visitors, even tho most of them won't be able to understand what the hell I'm on about. Still, hey, you can figure out what music I've been listening to and what books I've been reading on that nifty sidebar!

I have a new online journal called Complicated Fun (complicatedfun.com). Read it and weep.

It's part of a circle called Twin Cities babelogue (babelogue.citypages.com), which really should link to Matos, Nate Patrin, Kate Sullivan et al...

Pete Scholtes, Wednesday, 23 April 2003 01:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

Obviously, at this point, your blogs would flatter us rather than vice versa...

Pete Scholtes, Wednesday, 23 April 2003 01:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ha! I suppose. I dig the URL ("I knew that song before the Target ad" says me at every opportunity 'cos I'm a Big Hits of Mid-America Volume Three double LP-havin' dork), and it looks entertaining enough for me to forgive Rapture-hate (though the screamin' ain't my favorite aspect of 'em anyways). Kapow! Bookmarked. I envy yr swingin' social life, though.

Now back to me me ME. I still have a blog. It's just elsewhere. Y'all probably know that.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 01:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

So, I just started this a couple days ago: jaymc. Still very basic so far, but I'm hoping it will get me writing more regularly and less rambly than in my notebook-journal.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dave Marsh joins City Pages! Still just getting started, though:

Woo! Gigantic is up and running.

http://www.giganticmag.com

Unfortunately, with all the madness of the last couple weeks and the actual designing and re-archiving of the site, I haven't written anything new. I'll see if I can't crank something out before bed.

In the meantime, please beta test it, and write me if it looks weird or fucks up or... whatever. Thanks.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 03:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

looking good

Nice to see you back up and running.

slutsky (slutsky), Monday, 19 May 2003 04:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

oh but the links to other sites on the main page's sidebar don't work.

slutsky (slutsky), Monday, 19 May 2003 04:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

Yeah, I know. I'll fix it tomorrow. I spent so much time making sure it would be easy to update the links that I forgot to update the links.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 04:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

Okay, you have till tomorrow. But after that you're in big trouble, pal.

slutsky (slutsky), Monday, 19 May 2003 05:03 (twenty-one years ago) link

Auspicious Fish!

Even Simon Reynolds reads it...

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 19 May 2003 08:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

See? That's why I haven't updated the linkbar yet. I was waiting for Nick. Nice work, sir... you ramble most captivatingly. :)

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

I particularly enjoyed the scrolling game in the sidebar.

Paul Cox (paul cox), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:08 (twenty-one years ago) link

See what I've just posted. I'm trying to make James Oldham cry.

*sob*

James Oldham (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

I can't motivate myself to blog. I might start a new one at a different address to try and free myself from this.

Tyr what? Making NME writers cry?

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:25 (twenty-one years ago) link

It's easy. Just beat them about their poncy, pointy little heads.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

here's one, written mainly to entertain others at work, in which I obsess over whatever records i've just bought, how much I wanna sleep with the hot chick that was playing bass the previous night, etc.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

My archive's missing at the moment, unfortunately. The best thing ever written by man or beast would be there but it's not. It will return!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 19 May 2003 12:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

Auspicious Fish!

Now complete with full archives, more bitching about James Oldham, and some shit about Sting.

Because they haven't done it themselves yet: Andy Battaglia (http://jupitersite.blogspot.com/) and Philip Sherburne (http://minima-moralia.blogspot.com/) are up and blogging. Do go check them out, as if you needed me to tell you to.

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 14:35 (twenty-one years ago) link

I've since moved, sort of, to this place. It hasn't been worth reading for quite some time.

Andy K (Andy K), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 14:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

hahaha minima moralia. if only i had thought of it (and not used phenotext). then again i don't want to be confused with adorno, i rather be mistaken for kristeva.

i can't seem to connect to the philip sherburne one listed above, anyone know what the story with it is?

robin (robin), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 15:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

Headphones Save Lives is about a bit of everything. some music, other obsessions, and general randomness. was more personal at the beginning, but has moved into more random territory now.

also the sadly not-updated-as-often-as-i-should recipe log is called Licking the Spoon. which should hopefully have a couple new recipes in the next few days, now that things have slowed down a bit...

janni (janni), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 16:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

anyone know what the story with it is?

1. BLOGSPOT SERVERS have NOT been loading pages with reliability this week - try refresh.

2. I read sometime ago that putting a hyphen in blogspot address was a BAD idea as some ISPs were not connecting to said webpages for some technical reason, re: the iraq war blogspot [indeed blogspot itself duplicated the content of the URL to a non hyphen version to improve access]

DJ Martian (djmartian), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

They're shifting it to a new version of the blogger software - thus far mine's working OK and the archive's back up and working. wait and see.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:59 (twenty-one years ago) link

so they must be doing it alpha order then, Nick,

how is the new interface of this new version of blogger, codenamed dano?

when you log in for the first time: is there any procedure to transfer over or is it automatic?

Jess can you write anyway despite your apathy? I miss Technicolour (although posting to NYPLM is nice too).

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 22:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

heh well i have a LIST (ah, the easy out) which i have no place else to publish, so i guess that might goad me back into action.

jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 22:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm a little worried I may have set the bar too high for myself -- I mean, do I really have to be properly dialectical ALL the time? -- but I couldn't resist the title. Mainly it's a way of guilting myself into staying smart and attempting to keep to the aphorism format.

I suspect Adorno would disapprove of my enthusiasm for four-to-the-floor, however.

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Friday, 23 May 2003 23:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

I s'pose I should put my actual linkable link on here, sorry to overplug: http://complicatedfun.com

This month: Review of Mint Condition/R.L./Ali Shaheed Muhammad show, Clear Channel rumors, Brother Ali/Los Nativos, Mike Watt show review, Har Mar Superstar-Yeah Yeah Yeahs connection, Spectors interview, letters, Slug cartoons, etc.

Pete Scholtes, Saturday, 24 May 2003 02:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

i've been getting 404 errors with blogger sites, and when you look at the address "/null" has been added to the end of it
if you delete that and reload it normally works

robin (robin), Saturday, 24 May 2003 15:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

Wouldn't you know it, the best way to beat writing apathy is w/ boredom & insomnia. Here I go again.
