Just found out Beatport have given me $5.99 worth of free track downloads (ie like 3 tracks) - check for this in your junk mail or whatever if you bought any tracks off them in '06. Tomorrow morning will be chiefly comprised of picking these tracks (or adding a few dollars in myself and getting an album/compilation) while drinking a few gourds of mate. I think I'm going to make it something '07, any suggestions welcome, contents of this thread have already given me some food for thought.

it is a particularly shit week on beatport...I wish someone would grab them my the head and teach them to be better with genre classification....and also to just not stock some of the absolute shit that they do....

Some of the stuff on Cadenza is pretty boring though. I like "A Chico A Rhythmico" a lot more than anything else on there since Achso, "Yamore (Remix)" or the Luciano/Melchior split 12.

Obv. it's not in the same class as, say, the lifechanging Bomberos/Octagonal 12.

Anyone else interested in the next two Spectral releases? Remixes of Mouth to Mouth, and a split Audion/Bodycode release.

On that note, anyone else like the Bodycode album? It's hit or miss for me, but mostly the former..

Mouth to mouth remixes should be interesting. Easily in the top 5 tracks of last year for me, perhaps with the No fit state remix by Audion also in there.

'octagonal' is.. so good. i like a good amount of cadenza stuff. loco dice is sort of down there on my list (he's *okay*), but eh. Yamore is sick shit.

Ah, for some reason I thought that Digitaline and the NSI singles came out after "Yamore (Remix)". Ha ha mainly because vinyl stores over here only caught on to Cadenza in 2006 so they got all the releases in at once.

I'm also not so into the Pepe Bombilla track on the flip of "Yamore".

If there was a hypothetical "Seeing Through Shadows"/"Orchidee" 12 inch it would be just about unimpeachable.

that pepe bombilla b-side is great! i didn't think the harmonica would work but it totally does. the only problem is the overeager mastering that causes lots of outwards skips near the inside, although i guess they make allright loops. good for screwing with a crowd's heads for a few measures.

Well Pepe Bombilla sounds like the fakest name ever and that's his only release I think (discogs confirms this), so perhaps. Why to break heart techno guys with your mysterious pseudonymous ways :'( In a similar vein: who is Pom Pom for the love of God?!

I'm working on redeeming my Beatport voucher as well and I just listened to the sample of Octagonal. I'll definitely be purchasing it now. It reminds me a of half Basic Channel and half Henrik Schwarz. I need to revive the Schwarz thread because I can't stop listening to the fellow. I was gonna get all Schwarz tracks, but I think I'll need to get Octagonal as well.

I got it on slsk months ago, but in terrible bitrate -- and he has another one on his myspace page newer than that. both discogs and eletronnica romana pages no help!

not sure where i read, but disagree w/any static on ananda/becker single -- these tracks take a bit to get going, but very much like where they end up

Hug album Heroes (I think on Kompakt) is surprisingly good -- tho maybe not since it is just *Hug* stuff. imo John Dahlback releases way too much stuff

It is surprisingly good, true. I've only given it a cursory listen but I seem to remember my favourite track being a spooky number, maybe two or three from the end. When I say "spooky" I'm meaning Luigi's Mansion cartoon spooky rather than Ringu spooky.
