also re: "imma star", not even i remember why i hated it so much initially but when i listened to the album the other day i basically just kept thinking that everything ship said about the-dream circa love/hate is how i feel about jeremih, "birthday sex" aside

yo dudes i'm as enthusiastic as any of you but you've collectively nominated 6 different love vs money tracks. can we consolidate efforts on one or two tracks so that he at least has a chance of charting on the songs list?

can we consolidate efforts on one or two tracks so that he at least has a chance of charting on the songs list?

"right side of my brain" is my favorite song on the album, but i can get on board with some strategic voting. i wish i liked "walkin' on the moon" more, tbh. but "rockin' that shit" or "sweat it out" are good by me.

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 26 December 2009 22:59 (fourteen years ago) link

"rockin' that shit" or "sweat it out" are the two best singles proper, and i'll gladly throw either of them some votes, but there's no way fancy won't end up WAY high in my list. that is some next level shit, and head and shoulders above most things i heard this yr.

Alex in Montreal, Saturday, 26 December 2009 23:20 (fourteen years ago) link

just FYI since i am on a mobile...tannenbaum (?) nommed more than 15 so unless he came back and amended his noms, which is entirely possible since i haven't been checking, his noms will not make the cut unless someone ELSE noms them. if someone can c&p that list everyone can give it a once-over to make sure there's nothing there you are expecting to see on the final list.

musically, Saturday, 26 December 2009 23:26 (fourteen years ago) link

"rockin that shit" and "sweat it out," then? i'm down.

taoiseachizown (samosa gibreel), Sunday, 27 December 2009 18:05 (fourteen years ago) link

I'll bump this back onto the new answers page by kindly asking everyone to pop over to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VOTE HERE for ILX METAL ALBUMS OF 2009 !!!!!!!!!!!!! (non-metal thread regulars welcome. Everyones welcome to vote, please join in!) Voting Ends Jan 17. and vote.
If you can manage a top 10 then email it! If you can make a full ballot of 30 then fantastic, but the top 10 lists are just as welcome. Vote for as many as you can up til 30 votes.
So please at least look at the list of nominations and see what you like there (might prove handy for nominating stuff on this thread too that has been forgotten)

Thanks.

so totally logged out oh wait (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 30 December 2009 14:23 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't see why Position Normal shouldn't count - if it was limited to an impossible number of copies maybe, but it isn't, also it's rad

Now can someone please nominate Dominique Leone's 'Sometimes You've Got To Be Happy' because I had to choose between the two songs and I think I may have chosen wrongly. Well, they're both excellent, is what I'm saying. Dude's an ILXOR, shouldn't be the greatest sacrifice :P
