you actually used the word bitch though, right?

more and more I'm digging these should that seem aimed at the Youtube generation. there's incredible attention to detail here and the filming is first rate, which makes me surprised that Comedy Center hasn't cancelled it yet

it's pulling the same ratings as robot chicken and colbert report and it's not really getting serious critical buzz yet; i think they're gonna milk it for awhile

they do seem to have a huge budget for this. which is maybe due to them not having any other regular cast members besides the two leads...? I dunno. Def top quality comedy at the moment.

I think part of it is that you can get really high-quality production value lookin stuff for so much cheaper now.

I'd bet their budget isn't enormous at all

continental breakfast is an obvious classic. 'the flicker' was another one. they were also the rare sketch show where the returning bits never lost their luster (football names, valets, substitute teacher, obama, etc.)

i think the 80s aerobics sketch might take the cake for me though, and was the kind of sketch that made me less surprised than most when jordan peele turned into a horror auteur

voodoo chili, Wednesday, 27 May 2020 17:08 (three years ago) link

Rik Waller-Bridge (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 27 May 2020 18:17 (three years ago) link

Keanu was not good, though it did feature a subdued pre-Girls Trip Tiffany Haddish. Felt like a typical SNL movie, bad sketch premise extended to feature film length. Maybe find the Anna Faris parts online somewhere.

was rewatching some early season news with my gf, who had never seen the show, and it is for sure a bit more hit and miss than I had remembered. she wasn't particularly impressed and we ended up only watching a season or so.

It always seemed to me like Andre 3000 had flamboyant style but kind of a dour personality, while Big Boi had a more restrained personal style but was also more cheerful.
