Austin Peck based on the (mostly hideous) pics here, though I haven't a clue who he is.

Scanning ahead, the 2nd half of this poll will find me revealing one of my more guilty pleasure crushes from my younger days, but we will get to that later.

I can't help wondering how many of these guys are out of the closet now. Simple averages would require at least five of them and, given how show biz is in general, probably closer to ten or twelve.

And didn't Doug Savant play they gay guy in Melrose Place? Which might explain "the gayest of them all" pic.

Renfro OD'd a few years ago. :(

Oh wait, it seems I've mixed up Brand Renfro and Brad Dourif, who appears to still be alive. Still, it's sad to hear about Renfro too. :(

Tuomas, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 06:41 (8 months ago) Permalink

That explains things... When I looked at that Teen Beat pic, I was like, "How did that kid grew up to be Wormtongue?".

Tuomas, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 06:43 (8 months ago) Permalink

Like most people who were at a British university at the tail end of the 90s, I've seen Chesney Hawkes play live. He does a full live set of original material, followed by The One And Only, which he is legally obliged to mime. He then played Alright by Supergrass. It was kind of preposterous.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 08:44 (8 months ago) Permalink

I have never even heard of most of these. Exceptions being Jason Donovan, Dean Cain, Chesney, and the two Eurodance guys who I would never have thought of in this category.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 08:45 (8 months ago) Permalink

Yeah, I can't imagine that even the teen girls of the 90s would've been like, "DJ Bobo, he's so dreamy!". Dr. Alban at least looks sorta cute.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 08:58 (8 months ago) Permalink

mmm, Edward Furlong. I also had an inexplicable thing for Dieter Brummer, but so did every other girl of my age.

ailsa, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 11:23 (8 months ago) Permalink

This list was definitely made by either a British or Australian person btw. A lot of these guys were never famous in the US. For instance I have no idea who Dieter Brummer is because we never got Australian soaps.

Yeah Laurel, it's more likely that they're after your time or foreign tbh.

I loved Corky Nemec. A lot. I vividly remember the "I know my first name is Steven" TV movie.

Random stuff about the irl Steven kid - he was killed in a motorcycle accident the year that movie came out and his brother is the guy that murdered a woman and kids in Yosemite in the late 90s.

kinder, Tuesday, 18 September 2012 18:33 (8 months ago) Permalink

kinder: actually I think I was thinking of Danny Newman (not yet in a soap but I was probably only pretending to know who he was while everyone else was going on about how dreamy he was), but Paul Nicholls is definitely another name I couldn't remember from my class's later TV Hits dissections, yes...

By number of hours spent passing notes back and forth about him in my first year of secondary school, Edward Furlong is the clear winner here.

WHADDYA MEAN NO

Behr picked up a recurring role as the character Chris Wolfe in The WB's series Dawson's Creek. While filming the show in North Carolina, Jason read the script for a pilot called Roswell High — later shortened to Roswell — and felt an immediate affinity for the lead alien, Max Evans.

I totally think Michael Pitt = from Dawson's Creek.

Neighbours and Home & Away list need the guy who played Brad Willis and the guy who played Alan Fisher.

Seeing Dieter Brummer just reminds me how weird it is that Melissa George and Isla Fisher got to be proper famous-ish. And Guy Pearce, obv.

man, come to think of it, the nascent FOX Sunday-night sitcom lineup was p classic overall: Simpsons, Married.. w/ Children, PLCL & Get a Life. I think Herman's Head might have been in there at some point as well.
