WARNING: the are NO graphic sex scenes as suggested by the commercials. this includes an absence of cum-swapping, double-fisting, and tantric butthole maneuver scenes. evidently the producers of this movie wanted to attract a younger age demographic this time.

The limited edition Blu-ray will have deleted scenes, a director's commentary, a trailer, and animated menus. The disc itself will be sold in a protective case to help alleviate the possibility of scratches or other damage which might render the disc inoperable. Blu-ray discs can only be viewed using a Blu-ray player (although you can physically insert a Blu-ray disc into a standard DVD player or a Sony Discman, you will not be able to watch the MIB III limited edition Blu-ray disc on either of these machines).

Men In Black 3 has received mixed reviews from critics, but notable internet message board ILX (http://www.ilxor.com) had no less than two active threads dedicated to the film within a day of its wide release in theaters, prompting esteemed ILX pundit Dr. Morbius to declare that the film, quote, "GOTTA b good".

Men In Black 3 star Tommy Lee Jones is a highly-respected actor whose career spans decades. He has previously starred in such films as Men In Black 2 and the one that started it all, Men In Black. While his acting career has been much shorter-lived, Jones' costar, rapper-turned-actor Will Smith, is an equally well-regarded, award-winning actor. His filmography includes the original Men In Black and its sequel, Men In Black 2.

Quiet Desperation, LLC (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 28 May 2012 19:01 (11 months ago) Permalink

Although they appear quite realistic (particularly if you've seen them in 3-D!), the creators of Men In Black 3 insist that the aliens featured in the film are no more than elaborate special effects. In many cases, these special effects were inserted into the film after actors Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith had already filmed their scenes! If you have small children, be warned that the visual effects in the film may be too intense for them. Children have occasionally also had strong reactions upon seeing Tommy Lee Jones on the big screen. A pamphlet that will help you explain both of these potentially-frightening situations to your children is available as a .PDF on the official Men In Black 3 website.

one of the more interesting plot points in this film is about a rocket that sends people to the moon. does anyone know if this actually happened and if so why haven't we heard about it.

Despite the extensive interaction with space aliens depicted onscreen in Men In Black 3, mankind has still never had a documented encounter with sentient lifeforms from other planets. A rocket (or spaceship) has been piloted to the moon and back, but we unfortunately did not encounter any alien cultures while we were there (although I believe we finally were able to debunk those rumors about the moon being made of cheese!).

A film by Georges Méliès entitled A Trip To The Moon features a theoretical trip to the moon and can be considered a spiritual prequel to Men In Black 3 (let's just call it Men In Black 0!).

MIB III is not the first film to feature hypothetical beings from other planets; it was preceded by such pictures as Mac and Me, Robot Monster, and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

When you arive at the theater to watch Men In Black 3, you will want to look closely at your ticket stub for a letter or number in bold print. The reason for this is that many movie theaters today show two or more movies simultaneously on separate screens, and the number or letter on your ticket stub will correspond with the letter or number of the screen upon which Men In Black 3 will be projected. It's also important to pay attention to what time your particular showing of Men In Black 3 will be screened, as well, because, in addition to showing multiple movies at the same time, theaters will also occasionally have the same film showing on multiple screens (who comes up with these ideas?!)! You may find that wearing a watch or carrying a small clock on your person will help to ensure that you get to your showing of Men In Black 3 (don't forget to show up a little early to ensure that you catch all of the commercials and maybe even a little movie trivia, if you're lucky!). If you don't have a watch, you can purchase one at almost any retail outlet. If worse comes to worse, you can always ask a passerby on the off-chance that he or she has a watch which you might consult, or perhaps the theater will allow you to see a clock that they have hidden under a desk or inside of a cupboard. Best of luck with your Men In Black 3 moviegoing experience!

but seriously this was entertaining and clever, pretty much what you'd hope for in a summer sequel. i think barry sonnenfeld is actually a smart director even if more than half of the stuff he's made has been pretty crap. he seems kind of careless in what projects he chooses.

flesh, the devil, and a wolf (wolf) (amateurist), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:22 (11 months ago) Permalink

Before he became a director, Barry Sonnenfeld was best known as a cinematographer, in which capacity he worked with the Coen brothers (Ethan Coen and Joel Coen) on several of their films. Once he had proved himself adept in that field, it was only natural that he would move on to directing feature films and the project he's perhaps most widely-hailed for, MC Hammer's "Addams Groove" video.

Quiet Desperation, LLC (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:55 (11 months ago) Permalink

ok this joek is getting old.

sonnenfeld shot pron for a while, did you know that?

flesh, the devil, and a wolf (wolf) (amateurist), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 03:43 (11 months ago) Permalink

At one point, by his own admission, Sonnenfeld directed nine feature length porn films in nine days which could only help to prepare him for the world of mainstream theatrical films. During that time, Sonnenfeld also directed industrial films and documentaries, including the Oscar-nominated In Our Water in 1982.

You'll know it's Sonnenfeld porn when the camera starts down the hallway at floor level, moves down the hall, zigzags around discarded clothing, and then cuts to an above-the-bed shot of two people screwing.

didn't particularly care for MIB3. funny for a while, but increasingly tiresome after michael stuhlbarg's grotesquely drippy "griffin" shows up and helpfully ushers everyone through the remaining plot machinations to tear-jerking, hope-stirring happy ending.

the film seems takes place in world wherein all "weirdos" and "foreign types" are literal aliens against whose inscrutable agendas the men in black defend us. i suppose this has always been the subtext of the MIB films, but it's really ramped up here, even comparing the "weird foods" found in chinatown with venusian cuisine or w/e. the lowest blow is bill hader as andy warhol, revealed to be a man in black presiding over the zoo of alien activity that is the factory (along with foreigners, all artists, gays and models are apparently aliens, too). we're supposed to chuckle when this undercover cop faux andy begs for release, wailing that he can't "even tell the girls from the boys." ha fucking ha.
