£40 for tickets for that match, down to £20 for the cheap seats, and unlike the earlier games it's not a double-header. I wonder just how low the attendance can go?

not heard anything about agger to barca.

read somewhere that steven fletcher's conversion stats are amongst the best in the league. i really like him, wouldn't mind us making a mid for him this summer.

Chris, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 13:55 (twelve years ago) link

a bid. not a mid.

Chris, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 13:58 (twelve years ago) link

Be amazed if he's still at Wolves next season

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:14 (twelve years ago) link

charlie adam experiment will prevent such a move imo, tho finishers are a different beast

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:41 (twelve years ago) link

Because both of them & Dalglish are Scottish? I didn't know the Adam buy was chalked up to nationalistic bias.

boxall, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:45 (twelve years ago) link

Fletcher probably wouldn't be up for another relegation battle anyway.

pandemic, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:46 (twelve years ago) link

Too many British players boxall. Or at least too many bad British players.

pandemic, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:46 (twelve years ago) link

dunno about his conversion statistics but nb he stopped scoring months ago, old man deeply unimpressed with his work ethic, i say fuck a work ethic if you're scoring. if.

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 15:05 (twelve years ago) link

because they're both high-performing players from relegated teams- not a subset that traditionally get swooped for by the big boys, and adams didn't exactly make a great argument for it.

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 15:33 (twelve years ago) link

Ah I forgot about the relegation link. Were there any success stories from 10/11, other than Parker? Dann?

boxall, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:05 (twelve years ago) link

no, dann's had a mare

foster & larsson

r|t|c, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:25 (twelve years ago) link

although they werent signed off the back of great seasons if that's what the question was

r|t|c, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:26 (twelve years ago) link

Dann and Johnson both suck, maybe they need the magic of Big Eck to function "properly"

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:30 (twelve years ago) link

it was more whether anyone had gone to a cl ql challenging club, tbh

Parker, obv

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:31 (twelve years ago) link

hasn't he been shit since Spurs have gone to shit?

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:32 (twelve years ago) link

he's been ok imo, tho i know ilx spurs opinion may be otherwise. the midfield balance is rubbish and he has no defence to cover, as such, where we're really failing is in unlocking such stalwart defences as norwich or oh fuckit this joke's bitter can i get another pls

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:36 (twelve years ago) link

think only benny made more of a tit out of himself than parker did on saturday

r|t|c, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:40 (twelve years ago) link

I still rate Parker. Spurs biggest failure imho has been in scoring and that's not just Parker's failing.

L'ennui, cette maladie de tous les (Michael White), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:42 (twelve years ago) link

if only on setpiece delivery alone the past ten games, bale and modric have been orders worse than parker has been in his function.

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:50 (twelve years ago) link

Fun fact: 41 of Jelavic's 44 goals for Rangers and Everton have been scored with his first touch

Number None, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:55 (twelve years ago) link

I tend to agree. I was once excited by Bale and rated Modric highly. Now Bale seems to run down the touchline and then lose possession and Modric's passing has been sub-par.

L'ennui, cette maladie de tous les (Michael White), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 16:57 (twelve years ago) link

oh man, for a return to the days when bale ran down the touchline at all! I'd give me smaller bollock.

Modric has been quietly subpar- a yard short, not there for an ekotto layoff, no longer squeezing himself out of impossible gaps to set a run up, general lack of ambition in the pass. Apart from the liverpool goal he's done very little exceptional all season- it's saddening.

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:01 (twelve years ago) link

maybe the lad really wants away

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:02 (twelve years ago) link

give you 15m for him

Number None, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:02 (twelve years ago) link

a midfield of bale, parker, modric, lennon should be destroying most epl defences, if you think of it at all- regardless of our probs at cb or cf.

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:04 (twelve years ago) link

you've got no left wing there

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:04 (twelve years ago) link

spurs total inability to break down teams that sit and play behind the ball reflects poorly on all the midfielders, but especially modric i feel. he's the one that should be able to pick them apart. wouldn't mind if levy took 40M for him now.

mizzell, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:07 (twelve years ago) link

BAE is alright, though, isn't he?

L'ennui, cette maladie de tous les (Michael White), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:08 (twelve years ago) link

a better fullback than award winning kyle walker

mizzell, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:09 (twelve years ago) link

BAE is the one player i'd hate to see injured atm, his improvement under harry's been phenomenal. Walker's good too but vdv in front of him is a grave disservice ttl

diafiyhm (darraghmac), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:28 (twelve years ago) link

bae talented but fair-weather player it seems to me. couldnt cope with mackie up his arse all game and then sacked it off after an hour

walker not being coached anything so how much nous do you expect him to have at 21

r|t|c, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:28 (twelve years ago) link

bae injured halfway through last week iirc

Walker better than bae was at that age, yeah
