100 Creatures: A cartoon/project/drawalong project

So I keep meaning to work on this project where I draw 100 creatures in a mini notebook that I was given. I do not fancy myself to be a great artist. The last time I used to draw on a daily basis was when i was about ten. Now seems like a good time to take it back up again.
The idea is to take the first day to sketch/design, the second day to pencil and the third day to ink.
And maybe doing it on ILX would get me started doing this instead of dicking around with tivo.
I have five of them already done so ahma try to post a new one here every three days and also post the design sketch as well for alternate days.
I would really welcome folks to join me on this with their own monsters if they're into it.
and also to call me on being a non-drawing mofo if I quit.

He is drawn in a really friendly way but something about his bald big cabesa freaks me out a little. I would say that means it's a monster success! All the detail in his feathers is really cool.

as i think you'll see in this thread, i am one of those skritchers who jams up the image with cross-hatching mega details to hide the fact that i don't know shit about perspective/anatomy/fold theory

the idea was to do a cover illustration and then a full comic story using the complete grimm text to script.
I only did one of those and i only got five pages i think.
it was for the princess and the frog. I also directed the mamet play around the same time i did the pictures. I was in a weird place. it was college.

Here's what i did of The Frog Prince. I'm always sad when i don't finish these projects; what do you do with five pages and a cover for a graphic adaptation of the frog prince? i guess stick it on the internet.

(i.e. you draw much better than many successful comics)

forks do you know how I can tell your shit is awesome? It made me spend the whole afternoon drawing, that's how. That's called inspiration and it's a big fucking deal, it happens so infrequently.

Oh man! I think they sell those - or a similar thing anyway (notebooks with repurposed old novel covers etc) at a chain here called Magnation - and I can tell you they cost a LOT more tjhan on that site.
