WHO IS KEYSER SOZE: The Usual Suspects character poll and general discussion thread because I swear to allah I searched and couldn't find one...?!?!

Kind of a love/hate affair with this flick. First time I saw it I was annoyingly frustrated by the "easiness" of the plot device, but then I learned to not care and just ROFL @ BdT's amazing look/accent. Pick the character who you enjoy best.

This was inspired by the great lead performances in terrible films thread by the way... not that I agree fully (on either claim) but would definitely not argue against.

I remember Christopher Mcquarrie saying that every script he wrote in his early years had a character written with BDT in mind.

one year passes...

There was somebody in front of me at a stoplight today with the license plate "KZR SOZE." So it turns out he's very real, and he's driving a white car and living in west Toronto. I was hoping to sidle up to him at the next stop and give him a thumbs-up or some such inanity, but before I could he made a right and went grocery shopping.

Twist endings that do/don't completely obviate the whole rest of the story - started this one after seeing this flick for the first (and still only) time.

this is one of those movies that seems really awesome when you're thinking back on it, but while you're actually watching it you're like 'this is it?'

two years pass...

best performance in the movie belongs to peter greene as redfoot, it's probably the most "peter greene" performance he ever gave. show up, fuck with people, be a little drugged up and fearless, and exit. second place: his performance in 'training day'.

anyway this is not that good, i think it's a film where the twist casting everything you've seen in doubt really makes it seem kinda useless.
