Morgan Freeman — was he ever not an adult?

Considering he never got any widely seen work until the 1970s, and didn't really make a mark in film until the 1980s, there's a definite shortage of photographic evidence of Morgan Freeman ever being a young man. In fact, I started to realize I'd never seen a photo of him as a boy. The oldest photo I'd seen was taken of him during his enlistment in the Air Force (which A&E used repeatedly during their Biography of him). Still, that was a photo of a man roughly the age of 20. Was Morgan Freeman ever younger than 20? He told us he was, but there were no photos to prove it.

A couple of my friends turned finding a photo of Morgan Freeman in his youth into an obsession a couple months ago. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to find something useful on the great world wide web. But nothing! Morgan Freeman was never a boy, clearly. That was the conclusion. THEN, as if by magic, one of them had the good fortune of having just the right connection at work to be on the receiving end of something magical. I present to you: MORGAN FREEMAN, NON-ADULT!

That's obviously not him. Colors hadn't been invented yet in the 1930s. The world was various shades of gray.

I think the more important question is whether his voice ever sounded childish.

man is Street Smart ever a phony-baloney "hard hitting" '80s movie, but Freeman (and to some degree Kathy Baker) is its saving grace. I can see why it was his breakthrough.
