it is 2 degrees outside, not counting windchill. there is a foot of snow on the ground. soon wolves will come and eat me.

Yesterday morning, walking to the train, the wind was as face-shreddingly brutal as any I'd encountered since moving to Chicago 3+ years ago. I swore on many occasions last year that I was not going to deal with another Chicago winter, but, well...here I am. I thoroughly expect the wind to finish its work this morning, though, so I can spend the rest of my faceless days in a rest home where I'll never have to commute in the midst of inhuman weather again.

50 degrees and raining cold gloppy rain. not bad at all as winter goes -- but i would keep the temperature and lose the rain.

Cleveland: Currently 19F, wind chill 3F, winds gusting up to 32 mph. But no snow, as if that's any comfort.

It's so dark already! I keep thinking it's like 10:30. I think about putting a record on at 7:00pm and find myself thinking "IIIII dunno, I wonder if I'll piss off the neighbors downstairs" before I realize what's really going on here.

on my way to work today i broke a downed power line with the windshield of my car

while i was on the phone talking my parents out of driving around and doing errands.

I am now at work because i am stupid, soon i will eat the bagel i brought with me, which i will choke on, dying alone with no one to hear my crumbly screams. on monday our guitar teacher will find my frozen body in rictus, one blue hand outstretched to the water bottle that remains eternally out of reach.

mailman just arrived, his shock at seeing another living soul evident in his eyes, we embraced, fellow soldiers in the great war.

Hoping it will be a cold, cold winter so I can justify my misanthropic tendencies and stay home all the time reading books & watching movies & drinking tea.
