After spending forever in review, the ILX iPhone app has been approved.
WHAT IT CAN DO- Read and post to ILX (or the Sandbox or any other server running a really recent version of ConversationBoard for that matter)- Set and delete bookmarks- Automatically check for updated bookmarks- See pictures in posts, resized for the screen- Open Youtube and links in its own browser- Quote post text- Easy bold and italics in the post composer- Post drafts automatically saved until you delete or post them
COMING SOON- Polls: Right now the threads are displayed, but the options aren't there and you can't vote- Starting a new thread
WHAT IT WON'T DO- Work with the old-style bookmarks. If you've set them in preferences, unset them to use Zing.
WHAT IT NEEDSOS 3.0 or better (if you've got an old iPod Touch you'll have to upgrade, but 3.0 is miles better anyway)
Zing Lite is free on the app store. There is also the buy-Stet-a-pint version, Zing Touch, which is £4.99/$7.99 and will probably get new features first. Right now they are identical, except for some wee ads in Zing Lite.

Sounds like the cache is corrupted: open the accounts pane (gear icon on home screen) and log in again to clear them all. If that doesn't work, reinstalling definitely should. (Nothing's changed in bookmarks, or posting)

Quick question: if I delete Zing Touch and then download it again, will I have to pay for it again?
I ask because something went horribly wrong with it a few weeks ago, and since no one else has mentioned it, I'm assuming it's something with my phone and I need to reinstall it. All my bookmarks were deleted, and whenever I try to add a new one, the app crashes. Also, it won't let me post new messages.

Try logging in again (same procedure as above). The board list is saved to make startup quicker, so it doesn't notice new boards being added to your account very often.

sunny successor: Do you have traditional bookmarking set? The app needs to use the new-style bookmarks, and might be crashing if it doesn't find them. To check, go into Preferences (on the site itself) and make sure "Use traditional bookmarks" is *not* ticked.

Any plans for an Android app, Stet? Way more Androids than iPhones in the UK (although admittedly these stats don't take into account the iPod Touch, or the probability that ILX users skew Apple-wards).

Sunny: that feature's in there, sort-of: hit "edit" on the home screen and delete the boards you don't care about and it'll hide them from SNA too. (Do you just want to hide from SNA and still keep them on the list?)
Android: Ken C was talking about looking at doing one. I'm probably not: don't have one and don't know how to code for it!

Search is harder because it will take a load of server-side stuff as well.
