If I see them that cheap, I'll probably just buy a stand alone freezer so I can fill it up with them.

pretty much hate you guys for putting the idea of the thai chili lime peanuts in my head because:
1. they are delicious
2. they are 180 calories per serving
3. there are 15 (!!) servings per bag?

mh, Tuesday, 10 April 2012 03:02 (twelve years ago) link

CASHEWS, I mean.

mh, Tuesday, 10 April 2012 03:03 (twelve years ago) link

oh yeah no i can't have those things around

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 10 April 2012 03:03 (twelve years ago) link

I have like two beers and want to go into bodily combat with the bag and rip it open and eat them all

mh, Tuesday, 10 April 2012 03:07 (twelve years ago) link

literally the exact experience i had with them

7.5 nuts 4 u

I'm still enjoying the frozen rise-overnight croissants a lot. They're delicious for tiny frozen croissants.

Mango cream bars are good. But very tiny.

Jeff, Tuesday, 10 April 2012 03:46 (twelve years ago) link

vegetable pakoras are yum. a bit of heat with a nice long finish.

I got the lemon scented kitchen hand soap. The lemon smells like a food additive rather than something that would be used in a lotion or soap. But at least it isn't harsh and drying; I don't think it's warm enough for that yet.

Frozen fusilli w/ pesto and veggies was good but not great.

I can't get enough of the turkey meatballs! They are shockingly good.

Pita Malört (Je55e), Thursday, 26 April 2012 17:25 (twelve years ago) link

is this new 'hazelnut chocolate' spread actually rebadged nutella?

Philip Nunez, Friday, 27 April 2012 00:05 (twelve years ago) link

i think their chickenless mandarin chicken and breaded chickenless tenders are actually gardein products - but at half the price.

just1n3, Friday, 27 April 2012 02:43 (twelve years ago) link

I liked the chickenless tenders but man, they were really oily after baking in the toaster oven.

dayo, Friday, 27 April 2012 02:52 (twelve years ago) link

lol that's what i like about them!!

just1n3, Friday, 27 April 2012 02:58 (twelve years ago) link

going nuts on these buffalo chicken meatballs right now

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 27 April 2012 05:15 (twelve years ago) link

Whoa omg want

Fruit & Nut Trek Mix bars are p good but way too cranberryish, but still a nice deal at $2.50/box of 6

just bought valencia peanut butter w/ roasted flaxseeds -- what to eat with it? unfortunately all i have is an orange.

Philip Nunez, Friday, 27 April 2012 17:39 (twelve years ago) link

breaded eggplants cutlets are my new jam.

kate78, Friday, 27 April 2012 17:53 (twelve years ago) link

those are great.

Sgt. Dee Dee The Brass Cupcake McCall (get bent), Friday, 27 April 2012 17:57 (twelve years ago) link

Agreed. So good and actually sort of healthy.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 April 2012 19:03 (twelve years ago) link

OK, I will be in TJs in an hour or so, I am low-carbing as mentioned on another thread, and I need a good snack. If I eat another package of buffalo chicken meatballs I will likely turn orange. ADVISE ME ILE.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 27 April 2012 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

is chocolate a carb? the chocolate-covered almonds with turbine? salt seem to be cheaper than even plain roasted almonds (but it could be they put it in a subtly smaller carton).

Philip Nunez, Friday, 27 April 2012 20:17 (twelve years ago) link

chocolate usually has tons of sugar and almonds have some carbs of their own, but i'll check the label

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 27 April 2012 20:31 (twelve years ago) link

Real mozzarella sticks

Polly biscuit face (carl agatha), Friday, 27 April 2012 20:34 (twelve years ago) link

buffalo jerky

kate78, Friday, 27 April 2012 21:21 (twelve years ago) link

I find the breaded eggplant cutlets to also be oily :(

dayo, Friday, 27 April 2012 21:24 (twelve years ago) link

rip dayo. he found things to be oily.

This is the fucking best.

Um, get some bread?

i don't believe in zimmerman (Hurting 2), Friday, 27 April 2012 21:48 (twelve years ago) link

couldn't find any bread -- ended up dipping a nature valley granola bar in it. it had more of a jam consistency than i expected but it was still delicious. i wonder if i can freeze the peanut butter by itself and make a peanut butter bar...

Philip Nunez, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:19 (twelve years ago) link

Their fig butter is awesome!

Frozen palak paneer if you want something hot. Cheese and various salumi for something cold. The super high % dark chocolate bars aren't too bad w/r/t carbs if you can limit yourself to eating 2 or 3 sections. Avocados.

Jaq, Friday, 27 April 2012 23:57 (twelve years ago) link

The frozen paneer is great too. Certainly the best prepackaged version I've had.

Spencer Chow, Saturday, 28 April 2012 00:12 (twelve years ago) link

meant to say "*is* great."

Spencer Chow, Saturday, 28 April 2012 00:13 (twelve years ago) link

not low-carb, but: the raisin-rosemary crisps are amazing. i wish i was having a party soon so i could pass these around.

Wasabi seaweed snax!

tehresa, Saturday, 28 April 2012 00:38 (twelve years ago) link

I am a big fan of the frozen palak paneer

dayo, Saturday, 28 April 2012 00:40 (twelve years ago) link

most of these suggestions came too late, will try next time, esp wasabi seaweed snax which sounds amazing. In fact I didn't really get much snack except artichoke-parmesan dip, but I did get a tri-tip roast and a tub of hollandaise sauce and I gotta say this made a fine family meal with very little expenditure of effort on my part.

I like to put this on these bagel-based "power bar" things they sell in my supermarket's bakery - they've got dried fruit and seeds in them, it works really well.

shabba lambides (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Saturday, 28 April 2012 03:28 (twelve years ago) link

Alternately just spread it on some saltines but keep a bucket of water handy cause you'll be thirsty.

not a fan of trader joe's to begin with but man these jelly beans i got in this gift basket are ATROCIOUS

Speculoos Cookie Butter

Pretty sure I could eat a whole jar in one sitting.

Jeff, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 23:26 (eleven years ago) link

Prove it.

Pita Malört (Je55e), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 23:41 (eleven years ago) link

pics or it didn't happen

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 23:43 (eleven years ago) link

Could, not would. Unless there was some sort of monetary reward.

Jeff, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 00:10 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah I ended up getting rid of my jar of it because it was too dangerous; clear I would OD.

Dale, dale, dale (Abbbottt), Wednesday, 9 May 2012 01:24 (eleven years ago) link

So weird: Put together ingredients and bake cookies that are then disintegrated to make them an ingredient in another thing - will the speculoos chain grow? The obvious use for a sweet paste is in cookies --- cookies within cookies!

Pita Malört (Je55e), Wednesday, 9 May 2012 01:38 (eleven years ago) link

They have a candy bar filled with it, which is awesome. Now they just have to make a cookie with chunks of the candy bar baked into it.
