Welcome to my life.

Anthony: Calm Down. make a cup of tea. make a LIST. go home and get some sleep if you need it. wake up refreshed and raring to go. make another cup of tea. do all the stuff on the list in order (and be RUTHLESS if you catch yourself slacking off).

anyway, i thought your chums here at ILE were pretty much doing all the planning for you :)

Tea is a very good idea - according to the news today it can help prevent cancer of the stomach. Have some tea and some cake and you'll feel wonderfully refreshed and ready to roll.

pills my friend.

How about you pay our court charges and in fact, give me money? That would make you feel better.

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Okay it would make ME feel better. I will stop moaning now!

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Aw, it's okay Sarah. I have no money (am in debt a little bit thanks to school actually) but if I did I would send you some.

Nicole, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Sarah if there is any way for you to get the money owed (i.e. not the court charges) then go in person to them and just say look can we pay it right now and they might let you off the charges and ditch the summons - this utopian scenario happened to us, admittedly we sent Scary Max to 'negotiate' but we ended up just having to pay the council tax.

(Obv. this is no help if you can't get hold of the c.tax money)

I think it will be alright actually, this is mostly because I am envisaging taking Alice to SMALL CLAIMS and making her pay through the nose if she does not give us the money by the 26. If we can pay it all before the 26 we are alright - but we still have to pay court charges chiz.

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

This is what I mean though - go in person and act all nice and apologetic, the least that can happen is nothing at all, and we got let off our court charges by doing that.

Tom, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Ditto what Tom says, keep the cost down. Then make a claim against Alice in a small claims court for what she owes you. Simple.

All the info you need is here - if its over £100 pounds then go for it (she will also be liable for any additional court costs you had incurred anyway and you have a good case). All details (and forms) are at the The Court service website.

Okay, well - I will be paid again on Friday so with the money from Lixi I should be able to pay the lot off. I will go in person but that means being rather late into work and I will speak to them about the court charges. I will ALSO look into small claims court yes, if Alice still doesn't intend on paying up. She's not taking any money from MY pocket (credit card hem hem).

also on the last day you evah need to see her in yr lives put a big blob of blu-tac secretly into the back of her hair when you kiss goodbye

mark s, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Yeah and withold tongues, too!

Tom, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Tom, that would be TOO MEAN. Tongue-kisses are demanded by polite society these days.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

I seem to have missed something. What money of Sarah's is not being returned now?

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Anthony, I really hate to say this, but I'm not sure that sitting at your computer browsing ILX is going to address any of these problems in a very helpful fashion. Unless your essay is on records mentioning telephones, or this week's 'Chat'.

Martin Skidmore, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

of course it isnt , i am procrastanting. I finished the essay, the gateway stuff, the application and called an accountant to finish the taxes. Everything else can be dealt with tomorrow

anthony, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Wait a minute wait a minute when is simple kvetching on this board met with ration and logic?
