Lately I've been keeping a number of self-nudes up for auction on Ebay, and they've been doing well but my family is hesitant. The pivot point of respectability seems to be the penis. During the past month I decided to go pro-penis and the response from collectors has been positive.

Ohh, so sorry, I auctioned that on ebay for...$29. However, I would be happy to paint a second version for you for 75, which is what I usually ask for a portrait with or without pancakes. I would throw in the second canvas, the pancake high hat which was the second part of the diptych. That,or I would be happy to sell you a canvas print of both sections for 20, plus 3 for shipping.

Dan what is your opinion on the new The Darkness album cover?

I would say that its best to create music that is relevant to the times, but pancakes are good at any time no matter how they are presented, which is why I approve of the cover if not necessarily the retro rock.

oddly enough they seem to have found several of Dan's paintings in UK charity shops as well as comparable 'seen by millions on the internet' gems like the one of Macho Man elbow dropping Jesus. good going guys

ha sorry that was poorly pitched sarcasm, I was trying to suggest that they clearly hadn't found these artworks in charity shops at all and had in fact just seen them online

I only started following him on twitter in the last year or so, during which time I've mostly seen paintings of Prince, so I'm not sure if he's done other any Faithmouse stuff lately. But it's nice to see her face again after all these years.

Dan just posted that he is going into surgery tomorrow for a brain tumor. If anyone wants to send him your love, prayers, well-wishes, etc., I'm sure he could use that right about now.

Dan is currently in hospice care after battling glioblastoma brain cancer over the last year. His two brain surgeries have rendered him cognitively and physically impaired, with significant left side neglect.

Damn, he had kinda slipped off my radar. Sad to hear that it's taken this turn, but as far as I know, that's the most common outcome with brain cancers.

Marilynn McNair of Atlanta said she met Lacey outside Paisley Park in October 2016. A woman parked her car and asked Lacey what he was doing. He was holding a photo of Prince as a model for his painting. The woman blurted that she'd love to have that wonderful photo.

"It was his study picture, and he just gave it to her," McNair recalled.

"Dan, u don't know how it feels. One day u'll be famous and then u'll understand."

The facets that made up Dan's life had facets.

RIP Dan. You were a star unlike any other.

I’m not sure if this will ever happen, but I’m willing to take a shot b/c Dan loved theses boards & talked to me constantly about them. He promised me a lot of male nudes & time ran out for us. Dan was my best friend & if anyone is has a male nude he painted that they’d like to sell, please let me know. I’ll always be looking for one.

As for all of his pancakes, I hope they stay beloved by the world. Dan wanted more for his art legacy beyond Prince. I was happy to see you all remembering him. I miss him every day.

I somehow missed the news of his death in February, R.I.P.!
