come ye great unwashed to the sandbox

jergïns, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 18:33 (sixteen years ago) link

By all appearances, it seems as if Paper Thin Walls is about to make a play in the already crowded music-based social networking arena – the PTW “places” are much like the personalized pages found on Last.fm, Mog, imeem, and a host of other Web 2.0 companies looking to make a dent in MySpace’s music dominance. Ultimately, the basis of the site is for labels and unsigned bands to sell their music.

stet, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 18:54 (sixteen years ago) link

does anyone else find it ironic that for years we've been stealing bandwidth from stock image businesses, posting their .jpgs with silly zinglets -- and now we're being sponsored by such a company?

sanskrit, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 18:56 (sixteen years ago) link

aren't all the stock image ones watermarked

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:04 (sixteen years ago) link

StanM, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:16 (sixteen years ago) link

Nope. Forever and ever or until I can afford a computer. Which is forever, basically.

Laurel, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Jay Dubs, let's talk later.

Laurel, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:31 (sixteen years ago) link

it may have to be opportunistic

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:32 (sixteen years ago) link

I should prob look into used laptops anyway. This "hope for a new computer" business is probably folly.

Laurel, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:32 (sixteen years ago) link

Is Bryce replacing his laptop?

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 19:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Can you put up a "ILX HAS BEEN CLOSED...PERMANENTLY" front page to get rid of some of our undesirables?

When will the sandbox go up?

ILX Sandbox
If you're here because you think ilxor.com is down -- it isn't. You can get in at http://ilx.wh3rd.net/ILX/ until problems with the ilxor.com domain are fixed. If you're looking for the sandbox, it's here.

I'm on my way.

James Redd and the Blecchs, Friday, 30 November 2007 17:16 (sixteen years ago) link

Thanks ever so much, Ned, but I was hoping for something a little more specific than "Friday night." The Atlantic Ocean makes "night" cover a pretty wide range.

Hey, the old url is back. Three cheers etc.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 16:22 (sixteen years ago) link

Not for me it isn't. This is ISP-dependent or something, yes? This is the part of the internet I don't understand.

Alba, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 17:47 (sixteen years ago) link

It depends how long your ISP is caching the DNS entry for ilxor.com. Or it might be at your end -- try flushing the DNS caches
